Altman Plants Snake Plant (Laurentii) Live Variegated 30" Tall — 4in Pot, Low-Maintenance Indoor Plant

Altman Plants Live Snake Plant (Laurentii) is a tall, variegated, virtually indestructible houseplant that adds striking vertical presence while thriving on minimal care.

Known for its bold upright leaves rimmed with yellow, the Sansevieria Laurentii (commonly called the variegated snake plant) is a dependable indoor specimen that performs well in a wide range of light and watering conditions. Shipped fully rooted in a 4.25" grower pot and standing at approximately 30" tall, this cultivar combines sculptural form and forgiving care to suit homes, offices, and entryways. Its resilient nature makes it an ideal choice for people who want the visual impact of a large plant without complex maintenance routines.

How much light does the Laurentii snake plant need to stay healthy?

The Laurentii tolerates low to bright indirect light and will maintain healthy growth across most indoor settings. Avoid prolonged direct midday sun which can scorch the leaves; a bright window with filtered light or a moderately lit corner both work well.

• Low light: survives and keeps shape, growth slows
• Medium light: steady, compact growth and brighter variegation
• Bright indirect: best for vibrant colors without leaf burn
• Direct sun: only short morning or late afternoon exposure recommended

What watering and feeding routine should I follow?

Laurentii is drought-tolerant and prefers to dry out between waterings; overwatering is the most common issue to avoid. Water sparingly in winter and more when actively growing, and use a well-draining potting mix to prevent root rot.

• Water: every 2–6 weeks depending on light and season
• Soil: use fast-draining cactus or indoor potting mix
• Fertilizer: light feeding in spring–summer with balanced houseplant fertilizer
• Signs to water: top 1–2 inches of soil dry to the touch

How big will this plant get and how should I position it indoors?

This listing features an already tall Laurentii near 30"; mature specimens can reach taller heights over several years if given room. Place it where its vertical form complements furniture—by an entryway, beside a sofa, or in a bright office corner—for architectural interest without taking much floor space.

• Current size: approx. 30" tall in a 4.25" grower pot
• Long-term: can increase in height and occasionally produce pups
• Placement: stands well alone or in a group with lower plants
• Potting up: move to a larger container as the root ball fills the grower pot

Is the Laurentii suitable for beginners, pets, or busy households?

This snake plant is an excellent pick for beginners and people with limited time because of its low-maintenance needs and durability. Note: like many houseplants, it can be mildly toxic if ingested by pets, so place it out of reach from curious animals and children.

• Beginner-friendly: highly forgiving of irregular care
• Busy homes: tolerates skipped waterings and variable light
• Pet caution: keep away from pets and small children due to mild toxicity
• Maintenance: occasional dusting and minimal pruning for spent leaves
