BILLY BUCKSKIN HOME & BEAUTY Chickie-Whiz Volcanic Ash Dust Bath 2.49 kg — All-Natural, Chemical-Free Coop Grooming Mix

Chickie-Whiz is a 5.5lb all‑natural volcanic ash dust bath mix made in the USA to help chickens and small pets keep feathers and fur clean through natural dust-bathing behavior.

Whether you keep a backyard flock or small animal pets, Chickie-Whiz offers a ready-to-use, chemical-free dust bathing medium that mimics the dry, fine soils birds seek in nature. Packaged by BILLY BUCKSKIN HOME & BEAUTY, this volcanic ash blend is formulated to encourage natural grooming, reduce grease and debris in feathers, and create an inviting dusting spot in coops, runs, or indoor play areas.

How do I use Chickie-Whiz in my coop or run?

Set aside a dedicated dusting area and fill a low-sided container, wooden box, or a 2ft x 2ft shallow pit with the powder. Chickens will instinctively roll, toss, and preen in the mix; for confined birds, add a little local dirt to replicate natural texture.

• Fill a 2ft x 2ft dust bath box or low-sided tub with Chickie-Whiz.
• Replace or top up after heavy use to keep it dry and fresh.
• Mix with coop soil if you prefer a firmer, textured bath for timid birds.

Will this product work for animals besides chickens?

Yes—Chickie-Whiz’s fine volcanic ash is suitable for many small animals that enjoy dust bathing, such as quail, chinchillas, and gerbils. It’s formulated without additives or chemicals, making it a versatile grooming substrate for multiple species when used appropriately.

• Safe for adult poultry like chickens and quail.
• Enjoyed by dust‑bathing small pets like chinchillas and gerbils.
• Not recommended for baby chicks with down feathers—avoid use on very young or vulnerable animals.

How does Chickie-Whiz compare to coop sand or dirt?

Chickie-Whiz uses natural volcanic ash that’s finer and more consistent than many garden soils or coarse sandbox sands, which helps birds achieve thorough feather coverage when they dust-bathe. Its texture mimics the dry, powdery soils birds prefer, so it can clean feathers more evenly and encourage regular grooming.

• Finer, consistent grain compared with typical coop sand.
• Mimics natural dry soils birds seek for effective preening.
• Free from added chemicals and fillers commonly found in some commercial blends.

How should I maintain and replace the dust bath?

Keep the dust bath dry and sheltered from heavy rain to retain its texture and effectiveness. After periods of heavy use or when it becomes clumped or contaminated, remove and replace the mix to maintain a hygienic bathing area for your flock or pets.

• Store unused product in a dry, sealed container.
• Replace or sift the mix when soiled or wet—for best results, refresh regularly.
• Provide shade or a covered station to protect the bath from rain.

Who is this for: Chickie-Whiz is designed for backyard chicken keepers, small‑scale farmers, and owners of dust‑bathing small pets who want a natural, USA‑made grooming substrate. If you want a chemical‑free, fine volcanic ash dust bath that encourages natural grooming and helps keep feathers and fur cleaner between coop cleanings, this 5.5lb Chickie-Whiz mix is a practical, easy-to-use addition to your animal care routine.
