How much will this cartridge print and how does XL capacity help?

The PG-245 XL yields significantly more pages than the standard PG-245, reducing refill frequency and delivering better value for heavy users. Page yield depends on the type of documents you print, but XL cartridges are aimed at users who print text-heavy pages regularly.

• PG-245 XL black yields up to approximately 300 pages (based on Canon’s testing standards).
• Higher yield means fewer cartridge changes and lower cost per page compared with standard cartridges.
• Ideal for printing documents, invoices, schoolwork, and black-and-white reports.

What print quality and technology can I expect from Canon Genuine Ink?

Canon Genuine Ink is formulated to work with FINE print head technology for dependable droplet placement and consistent text sharpness. Using original Canon cartridges helps maintain printer performance and reduces the chance of nozzle clogging and color variation associated with non-genuine inks.

• FINE (Full-photolithography Inkjet Nozzle Engineering) uses thousands of micro-nozzles for fine droplet control.
• Produces crisp black text and reliable contrast for documents and drafts.
• Helps maintain printhead health and printer firmware compatibility over time.

How do I recognize genuine Canon cartridges and install them?

Genuine Canon cartridges are packaged with Canon branding and security marks to help you avoid counterfeits. Installation is simple: power on the printer, open the cartridge access, remove protective tape, and insert until it clicks; follow on-screen prompts if provided.

• Look for the Canon logo and secure packaging to ensure authenticity.
• Remove the orange protective tape before installing to avoid print failures.
• Follow the printer’s screen or manual for alignment/calibration after installation.

Who is this for? The Canon PG-245 XL is tailored for home users, students, and small offices that prioritize clear black text and fewer cartridge changes. If you print frequently—reports, classwork, invoices, or draft copies—and want consistent output with minimal maintenance, this genuine Canon XL cartridge offers greater yield and dependable performance for compatible PIXMA printers.
