CURT 45036 Loaded Ball Mount 2" Shank with Pre-Attached 2" Ball, 3402 kg GTW, 2" Drop

The CURT 45036 Loaded Ball Mount is a ready-to-use 2" shank hitch with a pre-installed 2" trailer ball rated for 7,500 lb gross trailer weight and 750 lb tongue weight.

This assembled ball mount arrives complete with a factory-torqued 2" trailer ball and hitch pin, so you can hitch a trailer as soon as you remove it from the box. Built on a 2" x 2" shank, the 45036 offers a compact 7-1/2" length and a 2" drop, finished in a gloss black powder coat to resist corrosion and everyday wear. Its 5/8" pin hole and polished chrome ball make it compatible with most common boat, utility, and recreational trailers when used within rated limits.

How does the CURT 45036 simplify towing prep?

Because the trailer ball is pre-attached and factory-torqued, you avoid sourcing, installing, and torque-checking a separate ball. The included hitch pin lets you secure the mount quickly to any standard 2" receiver, trimming time and tools needed at the trailering ramp.

• Factory-torqued 2" trailer ball for immediate use
• Included hitch pin and clip for fast installation
• 2" x 2" shank fits industry-standard receivers
• No separate ball mounting or re-torquing required out of the box

What towing loads is this ball mount designed to handle?

The 45036 is engineered for moderate to heavy personal towing tasks with a gross trailer weight rating of 7,500 lb and a 750 lb tongue weight limit. Always ensure your vehicle hitch, ball, and trailer ratings are equal to or exceed the trailer’s loaded weight and never exceed the lowest-rated component in your towing chain.

• 7,500 lb gross trailer weight (GTW) capacity
• 750 lb tongue weight (TW) capacity
• 2" ball diameter standard for a wide range of trailers
• Ratings may change if the ball is removed from the mount

Will the size and finish stand up to regular use?

The mount’s 7-1/2" overall length and 2" drop provide a compact profile that balances ground clearance and trailer coupling height for many light- and medium-duty applications. A gloss black powder coat shields the steel shank from rust and chips, while the trailer ball’s chrome plating offers corrosion resistance for repeated hookups.

• 7-1/2" overall length for a lower-profile fit
• 2" drop to help level trailers with slightly lower tongues
• Durable gloss black powder coat to resist corrosion
• Polished chrome ball for longevity and smoother coupling

How do I install and maintain the CURT 45036 safely?

Installation is straightforward: insert the 2" shank into a compatible receiver, align the 5/8" pin hole, and secure with the supplied pin and clip. Periodic inspections of the ball, shank, and pin for wear, rust, and proper torque (if the ball is ever replaced) will keep the hitch reliable over time.

• Insert shank into 2" receiver and secure with supplied 5/8" pin
• Inspect finish and ball before each towing trip
• Replace any worn or corroded components promptly
• Never exceed the lowest-rated towing component in your setup

It fits owners of vehicles with a standard 2" receiver seeking a compact, coated steel mount that arrives ready to hitch and handles everyday recreational and light commercial towing within its 7,500 lb rating.
