DEWALT 20V MAX Cordless Reciprocating Saw Compact 14" Bare Tool — Variable Speed, LED

The DEWALT 20V MAX DCS387B is a compact, cordless reciprocating saw built to cut in tight spaces with variable speed control and a bright LED—battery and charger sold separately.

The DCS387B packs DEWALT performance into a short 14-inch body so you can make controlled cuts where larger saws can't reach. It combines a 1-1/8-inch stroke for aggressive cutting with a variable-speed trigger that reaches up to 2,900 strokes per minute, plus a 4-position, tool-free blade clamp for fast blade changes and versatile orientations. A pivoting shoe and integrated LED increase accuracy and visibility on the job. This is the bare tool only—add a 20V MAX battery and charger to get started.

How does the compact size improve use in confined jobs?

At just 14 inches long, the DCS387B is sized to work between studs, under decks, and inside framing where a full-size reciprocating saw would be cumbersome. The reduced length lets you maneuver in tight cavities without sacrificing stroke power, making it easier to complete demolition, plumbing, or remodeling cuts.

• 14-inch overall length for access in narrow spaces
• Lightweight body reduces operator fatigue during extended use
• Pivoting shoe helps steady the blade in restricted angles
• Short stroke retains cutting speed despite compact footprint

What cutting performance and speed can I expect?

The saw delivers a 1-1/8-inch stroke length and up to 2,900 strokes per minute for rapid material removal and efficient cutting through wood, nails, and other common jobsite materials. The variable-speed trigger lets you modulate power for precise starts and controlled finishes, so you can match speed to the material and task.

• 1-1/8-inch stroke for aggressive, consistent cuts
• 0–2,900 spm via variable-speed trigger for fine control
• 4-position blade clamp enables optimal cutting orientation
• Pivoting shoe increases sawing stability and blade life

How easy is blade changing and visibility in low light?

Blade swaps are fast thanks to the keyless, lever-action 4-position blade clamp that accepts blades in multiple orientations for flush or angled cuts without tools. A built-in LED casts light on the cut line and surrounding area, improving accuracy when you're working in basements, crawlspaces, or evening conditions.

• Tool-free 4-position blade clamp for quick directional changes
• Accepts standard reciprocating saw blades for broad compatibility
• Integrated LED illuminates dark work zones for safer sawing
• Blade clamp supports flush cutting and versatile blade placement

Who is this for? The DEWALT DCS387B is aimed at contractors, remodelers, plumbers, electricians, and DIYers who need a powerful, maneuverable reciprocating saw for confined or overhead work. If you frequently cut in framing cavities, under floor joists, or need a compact demolition tool with adjustable speed and quick blade changes, this bare-tool model lets you pair the saw with your existing 20V MAX battery system for cordless convenience.
