Dyson V8 Cyclone Cordless Vacuum — Motorbar Head, 60-Minute Runtime & Whole-Machine Filtration

The Dyson V8 Cyclone is a cordless vacuum that delivers stronger suction, up to 60 minutes of fade-free run time, and a motorbar that de-tangles hair for whole-home cleaning.

The Dyson V8 Cyclone updates the proven V8 platform with increased suction, extended battery life in Eco mode, and a set of user-friendly features designed to make cleaning faster and more versatile. It converts to a handheld unit with one click, offers three selectable power modes via a push-button control for continuous use, and includes a Motorbar head engineered to remove long and pet hair while lifting dust from carpets and hard floors. Advanced whole-machine filtration captures extremely fine particles to help keep the air leaving the machine cleaner.

How much cleaning power and runtime can I expect?

The V8 Cyclone delivers noticeably stronger suction than the original V8 model and is tuned to maintain performance across typical home surfaces. In Eco (low-power) handheld configuration the battery can provide up to 60 minutes of runtime; actual runtime varies by mode, attachment, and floor type.

• 30% increased suction compared with the original V8 (Boost-mode inlet test).
• Up to 60 minutes in Eco mode when using a non-motorized tool.
• Three cleaning modes let you match power to task and preserve battery life.

What makes the Motorbar cleaner head better for hair and pet fur?

The Motorbar is built to deep-clean carpets and hard floors while preventing hair from wrapping around the brush. Specially shaped vanes and cone-style elements channel and lift hair into the suction path, clearing long human hair and pet fur as you move the machine.

• De-tangling motorbar design removes wrapped hair without manual clearing.
• Works on both carpets and hard floors for a consistent finish.
• Brush profile gathers hidden dust and lifts embedded debris for deeper cleaning.

How easy is it to use, store, and maintain day-to-day?

Dyson designed the V8 Cyclone for simple, repeatable use: a push-button power control removes the need to hold a trigger, the battery clicks out for separate charging or storage, and the hygienic bin releases debris quickly. Filters and tool attachments are accessible for routine cleaning to keep performance steady.

• Power button provides continuous operation without finger fatigue.
• Click-in battery can be charged on or off the machine for convenience.
• Quick-release bin empties debris in one motion; filters are reachable for washing per manual.

What filtration performance does the machine offer?

The V8 Cyclone uses whole-machine filtration that captures very small particles, helping reduce the number of dust particles expelled back into the room. Filtration efficiency is tested to capture the majority of standard dust sizes when used as directed.

• Advanced sealed system traps fine dust and particles to improve exhaust air quality.
• Filters are washable and designed for long-term performance when maintained.
• Filtration lab-tested for particle capture at typical vacuum operating conditions.

Who this vacuum is for: The Dyson V8 Cyclone suits households that need a versatile, cordless cleaner with strong suction and hair-management features — ideal for homes with mixed flooring, pet owners, or shoppers who prefer a vacuum that converts to a handheld for stairs, upholstery, and car interiors. It also appeals to buyers who want a compact, well-supported Dyson model with simple controls, a removable battery for flexible charging, and filtration aimed at keeping expelled air cleaner.
