Filtrete 15x20x1 Air Filter MPR 1500 (MERV 12) — 2-Pack 1" Pleated Filters for Allergens & Microparticles

Filtrete 15x20x1 MPR 1500 (MERV 12) air filters are pleated, 1-inch HVAC filters designed to capture a wide range of airborne particles while maintaining reliable airflow for your furnace and air conditioner.

These Filtrete filters use 3M Filtrete 3-in-1 technology to trap both visible debris like lint and pollen and smaller contaminants such as pet dander, smoke particles, and many bacteria-sized aerosols. Each pack contains two furnace/AC filters sized at 14.81 x 19.81 x 0.78 inches (actual) and is intended for typical replacement every 90 days. The higher MPR (1500) corresponds to increased capture of microparticles, and the MERV 12 rating reflects strong filtration efficiency for residential systems that accept 1-inch pleated filters.

How does this filter balance particle capture and system airflow?

Filtrete MPR 1500 filters are engineered to pull fine particles from the airstream while allowing conditioned air to pass with minimal resistance. The pleated media increases surface area to trap contaminants without overly restricting flow, helping your HVAC run efficiently when replaced on schedule.

• Pleated 1-inch design for expanded filter surface area
• MPR 1500 rating targets microparticles like smoke and pet dander
• MERV 12 efficiency suitable for many residential HVAC systems
• Recommended replacement every 90 days to preserve airflow

What particles will this filter capture in a home environment?

This Filtrete filter captures a broad size range of contaminants, from large dust and pollen to smaller aerosolized particles. Laboratory testing shows improved capture of submicron particles compared with lower-MPR filters, while the certified asthma & allergy-friendly recognition supports its usefulness for sensitive households.

• Large particles: lint, visible household dust, and pollen
• Microparticles: pet dander, smoke, and some bacteria-sized particles
• Reduces particles that commonly aggravate allergy sufferers
• Helps capture a portion of virus-carrying particles in airborne tests

How do I install and maintain these 1-inch Filtrete filters?

Installation is straightforward: slide the filter into your furnace or return vent with the airflow arrow pointing toward the system. For steady performance, check the filter monthly and replace it at least every three months, or sooner in homes with pets, smokers, or high dust levels.

• Match filter size to your filter slot (actual size 14.81 x 19.81 x 0.78 in)
• Observe arrow for correct airflow orientation toward the furnace/AC
• Replace at 30/60/90 days as needed; set reminders in the Filtrete Smart App
• Enabled for Dash Replenishment for automated reorder if used

Will this filter affect energy use or HVAC longevity?

A properly sized and timely-replaced filter helps keep airflow steady and reduces strain on your heating and cooling equipment. A clogged filter will restrict flow and force systems to work harder, so swapping filters on schedule supports energy efficiency and can help avoid extra wear.

• Cleaner filters maintain designed airflow and system efficiency
• Dirty or oversized filters can increase energy draw and wear
• Filtrete outperforms basic fiberglass or washable filters
• Regular changes lower chance of performance-reducing buildup

Who is this product for? Homeowners and renters with 1-inch filter slots who want an upgraded residential filter to reduce airborne particles and support allergy-friendly indoor air. It’s a practical choice for households with pets, seasonal allergies, light smoke exposure, or anyone who seeks better particle capture than standard fiberglass filters while retaining reliable HVAC performance. Use the Filtrete Smart App or Dash Replenishment to simplify replacement reminders so your system stays protected and your indoor air stays cleaner.
