Focusrite Scarlett Solo USB Audio Interface – 3rd Gen, 24-bit/192kHz with Mic Preamp & Instrument Input

The Focusrite Scarlett Solo 3rd Gen is a compact USB audio interface that delivers professional 24-bit/192kHz recording and playback for singers, guitarists, podcasters and solo producers.

Small enough to fit on any desktop yet built to studio standards, the Scarlett Solo 3rd Gen combines a high-performance mic preamp with a dedicated high-impedance instrument input and low-noise balanced outputs. It connects directly to your Mac or PC via USB bus power and ships with a comprehensive software bundle so you can record, monitor and produce right away. Whether you’re tracking vocals, DI guitar, or capturing podcast episodes, the Solo focuses on clean audio capture and simple operation.

How does the mic preamp improve my vocal recordings?

The third-generation Scarlett mic preamp raises clarity and presence in vocal takes. It includes a switchable Air mode modeled on Focusrite’s ISA circuitry to add subtle high-frequency sheen, helping voices sit better in mixes without heavy EQ.

• 24-bit/192kHz converters preserve detail across dynamics
• Switchable Air mode adds brightness and openness
• Clean gain staging and low noise for natural vocal tone

Will it handle guitar and bass directly?

Yes — the Solo’s high-impedance, high-headroom instrument input accepts guitars and basses without unwanted distortion or clipping. Gain Halo metering guides you to the right input level so you capture clean direct-instrument takes for reamping or DI mixes.

• Dedicated instrument input optimized for pickups and active/passive guitars
• High-headroom design reduces unwanted clipping
• Halo gain indicators make level-setting intuitive and visual

How will I monitor and connect studio gear?

Balanced outputs deliver low-noise connection to studio monitors so playback stays free of hum and interference. You can also plug headphones directly for private monitoring, and the low-latency USB connection makes tracking comfortable without delay.

• Two balanced outputs for clean monitor feeds
• Headphone output for private high-fidelity monitoring
• USB bus power for simple, portable setup—no external PSU required

What software and extras are included to get started?

Scarlett Solo comes with a robust software package so you can start recording immediately. The Hitmaker Expansion and bundled DAWs include instruments, effects, and familiar production tools for composing, editing and mastering projects.

• Ableton Live Lite and Avid Pro Tools Intro+ for recording and arranging
• Hitmaker Expansion with plugins like Auto-Tune Access and Softube amp emulations
• Three-month Splice Sounds subscription and additional virtual instruments
