Foxtail Sport spin-and-throw outdoor toy — Tri-Color 90s-style tail, baseball-core for long-distance catches

Foxtail Sport is the classic 90s spin-and-throw outdoor toy that sends a baseball on a colorful tail up to 50 yards for easy, long-distance catches and fast backyard fun.

Recreated from the original design, the Foxtail Sport pairs a durable baseball-style core with a stitched, three-color nylon tail so players can spin, launch, and score with a simple throw and catch. The kit includes a printed game booklet and clear sewn instructions on the label, giving you ready-to-play rules and variations that expand a single toy into many backyard contests. Built for many summers of play, this Foxtail balances distance, durability, and straightforward mechanics to appeal to kids, teens, and adults.

How does Foxtail Sport travel so far with so little effort?

The secret is rotational launch: players grip the tail, spin the toy to build angular momentum, then release so the ball flies forward on a stabilizing vane of fabric. That spinning action creates lift and reduces the force required from your arm, so throws travel farther with less strain. It’s an efficient design that favors technique over brute strength.

• Spun-launch design maximizes distance while minimizing shoulder effort.
• Baseball-style core keeps weight centered for stable flight.
• Lightweight nylon tail acts as a wing, improving lift and glide.
• Recommended for ages 8+ to balance power and safety with long throws.

What’s included and how do you play right away?

The Foxtail Sport ships ready for action: the sewn label displays the basic scoring game, and a full game booklet provides multiple modes and rule variations to suit groups and skill levels. To start, grip the tail, spin a few revolutions, and release toward your target; players can score by catching specific tail-color zones or by distance. It’s easy to teach and fast to learn.

• One Foxtail Sport with baseball-style ball and tri-color stitched tail.
• Printed game booklet with step-by-step rules and play variations.
• Sewn-on fabric label showing the core scoring game for quick reference.
• Simple rules let new players be competitive immediately.

How durable and safe is the Foxtail Sport for regular outdoor use?

Constructed with a reinforced baseball-like ball and heavy-duty nylon tail stitching, this Foxtail is designed for repeat play across seasons. The materials resist wear from grass, sand, and frequent launches, while the spinning launch reduces abrupt impacts because less arm power is needed. For younger children, the brand offers softer Foxtail variants better suited to early learners.

• Modified baseball core for consistent flight and long lifespan.
• Durable nylon tail stitching survives rough outdoor surfaces.
• Reduces throwing strain—good for mixed-age groups.
• Alternate Foxtail models available for under-8 players with softer ends.

What kinds of games and scoring can you play with one Foxtail?

The included booklet and sewn label present multiple game modes: classic color-zone scoring, distance challenges, and team relay formats. Players can compete to catch the red section for top points, set up concentric target rings, or create timed passing drills. The variety keeps the toy fresh and makes it suitable for solo practice, family play, or school PE sessions.

• Color-zone scoring—red near the ball scores highest.
• Distance contests measure how far each throw reaches.
• Relay and accuracy games for team play and drills.
• Adaptable rules for age and skill levels in the booklet.

The Foxtail Sport is for anyone eight years and older who wants an easy-to-learn, high-fun outdoor throwing toy that doesn’t rely on raw strength.
