FresKaro 25 kN Double-Locking Climbing Carabiners — 3-Pack Black, UIAA-Certified, Hot-Forged D-Shape

The FresKaro 25kN double-locking carabiner is a UIAA-certified, hot-forged D-shaped carabiner designed for heavy-duty climbing, rappelling, rescue, and multi-use outdoor rigs.

Built to meet demanding load requirements while keeping weight low, this three-piece set of FresKaro carabiners blends strength, smooth operation, and user-focused details. Each clip is hot-forged and rated to 25 kN on the major axis with an automatic re-locking, two-way barrel mechanism that opens with a single-handed twist-and-push. The D-shaped body concentrates load towards the spine for improved performance, and the keylock-style nose helps avoid snagging on ropes or gear.

How secure is the locking mechanism and how does it operate?

The barrel lock uses a two-way, twist-and-push action that lets you operate the gate with one hand—twist the barrel and push against the spring to open. Releasing pressure allows the mechanism to re-lock automatically, reducing the chance of accidental openings. The smooth gate and barrel finish keeps operation consistent even after repeated use.

• Automatic re-lock on release for safer use
• One-handed twist-and-push operation for fast clipping
• Keylock nose prevents snagging on ropes and anchors

What strength and standards does this carabiner meet?

Each FresKaro carabiner is rated to 25 kN (about 5,621 lbs) along the major axis and is tested to UIAA standards for climbing gear. Cross-loading strength is specified at 7 kN, reflecting realistic secondary load conditions. The hot-forged construction and D-shape geometry provide a favorable strength-to-weight ratio for technical use.

• Major axis strength: 25 kN (UIAA certified)
• Cross-loaded rating: 7 kN for lateral forces
• Hot-forged body and D-shape design for optimized load path

How does the design help during real-world use like climbing or hiking?

The FresKaro carabiner’s deep basket and D-shaped profile guide ropes and slings toward the spine, reducing fumbling while clipping. The 0.66" gate opening balances ease of clipping with secure retention of ropes and webbing. A smooth finish prevents blisters and reduces wear on webbing or gloves during repeated handling.

• Deep basket reduces fumbling when clipping ropes or anchors
• 0.66" gate opening fits most ropes, slings, and hardware comfortably
• Smooth surfaces minimize abrasion on gear and skin

What are the size and weight details I should know before buying?

Designed to be lightweight for multi-pitch and backcountry use, each carabiner weighs about 2.01 ounces (≈57 grams). Dimensions are compact enough to carry multiple units without bulk—roughly 3.93" tall and 2.3" wide at the widest point. This model ships as a set of three, making it practical for building anchors or equipping a rescue kit.

• Net weight: 2.01 oz (approximately 57 g) per carabiner
• Height: 3.93"; Width: 2.3" (widest point)
• Pack includes three black double-locking carabiners

Who is this for? Climbers, rope-access technicians, outdoor guides, search-and-rescue volunteers, and serious hikers who need reliable, certified locking hardware will find the FresKaro 25kN carabiners well-suited to technical applications. They also work for non-climbing uses that demand strong, re-locking clips—hammock setups, heavy-duty dog leads, or securing gear in the field. If you require certified strength, durable construction, and a user-friendly lock in a compact package, this three-pack is built for those needs.
