GLACIER FRESH Garden Hose Filter Pre-Filter 2-Pack — Coconut-Carbon, 3/4" Thread, 30283 L Capacity

GLACIER FRESH Garden Hose Filter Pre-Filter 2-Pack is a screw-on hose-mounted filter using coconut shell activated carbon to reduce chlorine, odors, particulates and free metal ions while filling pools, hot tubs and inflatables.

Keep debris and unwanted tastes or smells out of your pool, spa or kiddie pool with an easy-to-install pre-filter designed for standard garden hoses. Each GLACIER FRESH filter uses coconut shell-activated carbon to adsorb contaminants and improve water clarity up to approximately 8,000 gallons per filter. The compact, tool-free design connects between any standard garden hose and delivers filtered water for filling or topping off water features, spas, hot tubs and car washes.

How does this hose filter improve water when filling a pool or spa?

The activated carbon core adsorbs chlorine, odors, some dissolved metals and many fine particulates that ride in municipal or well water. That reduces off-odors and improves the initial clarity of the water you add, which helps lower the load on your pool or spa sanitizer.

• Contains coconut shell-activated carbon particles for adsorption of organic compounds
• Removes chlorine taste and smell plus many suspended microparticles
• Adsorbs free metal ions to reduce staining and discoloration risk
• Rated for roughly 8,000 gallons of filtered water per unit (varies by source water quality)

Will the filter fit my garden hose and how do I install it?

The GLACIER FRESH pre-filter is made to work with standard garden hose fittings—no special adapters needed for most residential hoses. Installation is quick and tool-free: attach the filter to the hose, run water through for about 30 seconds to flush, then route the hose into your pool or spa.

• Standard 3/4" hose thread compatibility for most hoses and spigots
• Tool-free screw-on connection for fast setup and removal
• Flush for 30 seconds before filling to remove packing dust
• Suitable for use with hoses filling tubs, hot tubs, inflatable pools and more

How long does each filter last and when should I replace it?

Each filter is designed to treat up to about 8,000 gallons, though actual lifespan depends on your source water’s sediment and chemical load. Replace the unit sooner if you notice reduced flow, visible discoloration in the filter, or a return of odors and tastes when filling.

• Estimated capacity: up to 8,000 gallons per filter under typical conditions
• Higher sediment or heavy chlorine levels will shorten effective life
• Monitor flow rate and water clarity; decreased performance signals replacement
• Sold as a convenient 2-pack for staggered replacements or two-spot coverage

What practical uses and limitations should I expect?

This pre-filter is ideal for improving water quality when filling or topping off pools, spas, hot tubs and small inflatables, and for rinse jobs like car washing. It is not a multi-stage municipal-grade purifier—do not rely on it for drinking water treatment, biological decontamination, or complete removal of dissolved salts and all minerals.

• Great for filling pools, hot tubs, kiddie pools and rinsing vehicles
• Reduces chlorine, odors, metal ions and many suspended particles
• Not a substitute for certified drinking-water filtration or desalination
• Single-use cartridge design; replace when capacity is reached

Who is this for: homeowners and renters who want cleaner fill water for pools, spas, hot tubs and inflatables without complicated installation or plumbing work.
