Grill Mates Smokehouse Maple Seasoning 794 g — Sweet Hickory Maple Flavour, Coarse Grind, No MSG

McCormick Grill Mates Smokehouse Maple Seasoning is a 28-ounce coarse blend that delivers sweet hickory smoke and maple-forward flavor to meats, seafood and vegetables.

Designed for busy kitchens and backyard grillers alike, this large-format seasoning combines smoky hickory notes with brown sugar, maple, garlic and a touch of orange peel to create a balanced sweet-and-smoky profile. The coarse texture gives grilled items an attractive finish while the formula contains no added MSG and is certified kosher, making it easy to use across diverse menus.

How will this seasoning change my grilled meats?

The Smokehouse Maple blend adds a layered sweet-smoky finish that enhances both mild and bold proteins without overpowering them. It caramelizes on high heat for an appealing crust and brings aromatics like garlic and onion to the forefront for deeper savory complexity.

• Use 1 tbsp per pound of meat as a guideline for balanced flavor.
• Works well as a dry rub before grilling, broiling, or pan-searing.
• Caramelizes to form a flavorful crust on pork chops, chicken and burgers.
• Coarse grind adds visual texture to plated proteins.

Can I use this on seafood and vegetables?

Yes — the maple and citrus notes pair particularly well with salmon, shrimp and root vegetables, giving delicate items a smoky-sweet lift. Lightly coat or sprinkle and adjust quantity to taste so you preserve natural textures and moisture.

• Sprinkle on salmon fillets for a sweet, smoky glaze-like finish.
• Toss roasted sweet potatoes or carrots with a light dusting before roasting.
• Use sparingly on shrimp to avoid overpowering delicate flavor.
• Finish grilled vegetables with a pinch for added aroma and color.

What makes the 28-ounce container useful for kitchens?

The generous 28 oz tub is sized for commercial use or enthusiastic home cooks who want consistent seasoning without frequent repurchases. Its stable, resealable container helps maintain freshness and speeds service when producing repeatable recipes.

• Large format reduces refill frequency in busy back-of-house operations.
• Coarse grind stays free-flowing for quick portioning during service.
• Consistent blend simplifies training for kitchen staff and recipe scaling.
• Kosher certification and no added MSG broaden guest suitability.

How should I incorporate it into recipes and prep?

Apply as a dry rub before cooking, mix into sauces for a smoky-sweet twist, or sprinkle as a finishing touch for visual appeal. Because the seasoning is concentrated in flavor, start with modest amounts and increase to suit your menu.

• Rub onto proteins 15–30 minutes before grilling for surface flavor.
• Blend with oil or honey for a quick baste or glaze.
• Mix into burger blends or meatloaf for consistent seasoning throughout.
• Finish plated dishes with a light dusting for aroma and garnish.
