Grow Queen Aroid Potting Mix 3.79 L — Chunky, Peat-Free Organic Soil for Monstera & Aroids

Grow Queen Craft Aroid Potting Mix is a chunky, peat-free organic soil blend formulated for aroids and tropical houseplants to deliver fast drainage, improved aeration, and a living microbial community for healthier roots.

This 4-quart pre-mixed potting medium is designed for indoor tropicals such as Monstera, Alocasia, Philodendron and other aroids. It pairs organic coco coir, New Zealand tree fern fiber, worm castings and volcanic aggregates (pumice and lava rock) with large bark fines to recreate the porous, slightly acidic substrate many tropicals prefer. Ready to use out of the bag and pet-safe, the mix aims to reduce overwatering risk while supporting steady nutrient uptake and root development.

How does this mix prevent overwatering problems?

The formula emphasizes chunky components—Douglas fir bark fines, pumice and lava rock—that create large pore spaces for rapid drainage and continuous air flow to roots. Those textures reduce water retention in the root zone so excess moisture moves away quickly, lowering the chance of root rot.

• High-porosity structure speeds drainage and dries between waterings
• Volcanic aggregates replace perlite for stable aeration
• Chunky bark maintains long-term soil structure for healthy roots

What natural ingredients feed plants and balance pH?

The mix is enriched with living beneficial microbes and worm castings to support microbial activity around roots, and New Zealand tree fern fiber buffers pH toward a slightly acidic level favored by many tropicals. Organic coco coir provides moisture retention without waterlogging, while the nutrient components make it compatible with regular liquid feeding routines.

• Worm castings and organic matter supply slow-release nutrients
• Tree fern fiber gently lowers and stabilizes pH to about 6.0
• Certified organic coco coir holds moisture yet avoids compaction

Is it environmentally friendly and pet safe?

Grow Queen avoids peat and perlite: peat harvesting harms ecosystems and stores carbon, while perlite requires energy-intensive processing. This blend uses sustainably sourced coco coir and natural volcanic rock, and the peat-free formula helps reduce environmental impact. The finished product is labeled non-toxic and ready for homes with pets when used as directed.

• Peat-free, reducing carbon and habitat loss concerns
• Perlite-free—uses pumice and lava rock instead
• Pre-mixed and pet-friendly for household safety

Which plants benefit most from this mix and how should I use it?

This blend was developed for aroids and other tropical houseplants that need airy, fast-draining substrates: Monstera, Alocasia, Anthurium, Philodendron and many epiphytic or semi-epiphytic species. Use it for repotting, top-dressing or starting new plants—fill a pot with drainage holes, place roots gently, and water to settle the mix. Combine with liquid plant food as part of a regular feeding schedule for best results.

• Ideal for Monstera, Alocasia, Philodendron, Hoyas and Anthuriums
• Works for repotting, root health recovery, and fresh starts
• Pair with balanced fertilizer for steady growth
