GU Energy Energy Gel 24-Count Assorted — Original vegan 100-calorie packets with electrolytes

GU Energy Original is a portable, 100-calorie sports energy gel that delivers fast carbs, electrolytes, and branched-chain amino acids in vegan, gluten-free packets for on-the-go workouts.

Designed for athletes who need quick, easy-to-digest fuel during training or events, this 24-count assorted pack includes indulgent flavors like Vanilla Bean, Salted Caramel, Caramel Macchiato, Espresso Love, and Chocolate Outrage. Each packet supplies dual-source carbohydrates for efficient absorption, essential electrolytes to support hydration balance, and branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs) to help reduce muscle damage and mental fatigue. Several flavors contain caffeine for an added alertness boost; caffeine content varies by flavor.

How quickly does GU Energy gel provide usable fuel?

GU Energy gels are formulated for fast uptake: maltodextrin and fructose use different intestinal transport pathways so energy enters the bloodstream more efficiently than single-source carbs. That makes these gels a good choice when you need immediate calories during intense or prolonged activity.

• 100 calories per packet for a compact energy hit
• Dual-source carbs (maltodextrin + fructose) for steady absorption
• Take one packet 5 minutes before start and every ~45 minutes during exercise

Which flavors include caffeine and how do I choose one?

Caffeine is included in selected flavors for those who want a mental and performance lift; not all flavors contain it. Check the packet label to confirm caffeine content and select based on your tolerance, timing, and whether you prefer a stimulant-free option for late-day training.

• Flavors like Espresso Love and Caramel Macchiato typically contain caffeine
• Vanilla Bean and Chocolate Outrage may be caffeine-free—verify label
• Use caffeinated packets earlier in events to avoid sleep disruption

Are these gels suitable for dietary restrictions and race requirements?

GU Energy Original in this variety pack is vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free, and kosher, making it compatible with common dietary needs and many race nutrition rules. The ingredients and nutrition facts are printed on each packet so you can confirm suitability for your event or personal preferences.

• Certified gluten-free and vegan formulations
• Dairy-free and kosher for broader dietary acceptance
• Individual packet labels list ingredients and allergen information

How should I use GU Energy gels during training and races?

Use these gels to top up carbohydrates during long or high-intensity efforts. Start with one packet about five minutes before activity and continue roughly every 45 minutes, pairing with water to aid absorption and reduce stomach upset.

• Consume one packet 5 minutes before exercise
• Repeat about every 45 minutes; adjust based on effort and digestion
• Follow each gel with water to improve uptake and comfort

Who this is for: GU Energy Original sports gels are aimed at endurance athletes, weekend warriors, cyclists, runners, hikers, and anyone who needs compact, reliable carbohydrate fuel during exercise. This 24-count assorted pack suits people who want flavor variety, vegan and gluten-free formulations, and portable energy that’s easy to carry and consume during training or competition.
