Hunter PGV 1 in. Sprinkler Valve — 1" Irrigation Valve with Flow Control, 24V Solenoid, Top-Access Service

Hunter PGV 1-inch electric sprinkler valve is a rugged, controller-ready inline valve with built-in flow control for reliable residential and commercial irrigation. The Hunter PGV 1" valve is engineered to deliver steady performance in lawns, garden beds, and landscape systems where dependable automated watering matters. Built from glass-reinforced nylon and designed for top-side servicing, this valve withstands demanding outdoor conditions while remaining compatible with common 24V AC irrigation controllers. Its compact footprint and straightforward maintenance make it a favorite for new installs, replacements, and tight valve-box arrangements.

How does the PGV valve make irrigation more precise?

The integrated flow-control feature lets you dial back or balance water delivery to individual zones without additional fittings. That control reduces misting, prevents overwatering on smaller zones, and helps match output between heads for even coverage.

• Built-in adjustable flow control for fine-tuning zone output
• Helps reduce water waste and uneven coverage
• Avoids adding separate flow-control devices

Will this valve work with my existing controller and piping?

The PGV ships with a pre-installed 24V AC solenoid that pairs with any standard 24-volt irrigation timer. Its 1" female NPT threading fits common PVC and inline plumbing found in residential and light-commercial systems, simplifying upgrades and direct replacements.

• Pre-installed 24V solenoid for immediate controller compatibility
• Standard 1" female NPT threads for easy connection to typical pipe
• Straightforward swap-in replacement for many older valves

How durable and serviceable is the Hunter PGV 1" valve?

Constructed from glass-reinforced nylon with a reinforced diaphragm, the valve is rated for high-pressure environments and outdoor exposure. Top-side access and captive fasteners let technicians or DIYers service the valve quickly without disturbing the line, minimizing downtime during routine maintenance or repairs.

• Rugged nylon body resists weathering and mechanical stress
• 150 PSI rating suitable for many pressurized systems
• Top-access design with removable bonnet for easy servicing

How does installation and routine maintenance compare to other valves?

The PGV simplifies installation and upkeep: captive screws, a compact profile, and an easy-to-remove top reduce labor time. Because it fits common plumbing and electrical standards, it often requires no pipe rework or special adapters during replacement jobs.

• Captive bolts and simple bonnet removal for fast access
• Compact size fits tight valve boxes and multi-valve layouts
• Minimal specialty tools needed for routine service

Who is this for The Hunter PGV 1" irrigation valve suits landscapers, irrigation contractors, and skillful homeowners who want a durable, controller-ready inline valve with adjustable flow. It's well matched to small-to-medium residential systems, commercial landscape zones, and retrofit projects where reliability, ease of service, and compatibility with standard 24V controllers are priorities. If you need a proven valve that balances performance with straightforward installation and long-term field durability, the PGV is a practical choice.
