Insta360 X5 8K 360° Action Camera — Waterproof X5 Model, Low-Light Performance & Replaceable Lens

The Insta360 X5 is a rugged, waterproof 8K 360° action camera designed to capture ultra-detailed immersive video with exceptional low-light performance and AI-powered features like invisible selfie-stick reframing.

Built for adventure and content creation, the X5 combines dual 1/1.28" sensors, a triple AI chip architecture, and replaceable lenses to produce sharp 360° footage in challenging conditions. Whether you’re shooting dawn surf sessions, night rides, or hands-free POV to third-person reframes, the X5 prioritizes stabilization, clear audio, and flexible editing workflows so you can create polished clips straight from the camera or in post.

How does the X5 improve low-light and night footage?

The X5 uses a triple AI chip design that accelerates noise reduction and smart image processing, resulting in cleaner, more usable frames in dim or mixed lighting. Dual 1/1.28" sensors gather more light and preserve color and detail, letting you capture evenings and indoor scenes with less grain.

• Triple AI chips drive advanced noise reduction and tone mapping
• Dual large 1/1.28" sensors increase dynamic range and low-light sensitivity
• 8K30fps capture retains detail for reframing and stabilization

What stabilization and horizon control can I expect during action?

FlowState Stabilization and full 360° Horizon Lock work together to keep footage smooth and level without a gimbal. The system compensates for bumps, rotations, and fast movement so your clips look steady straight from the camera.

• FlowState for buttery-smooth motion tracking
• 360° Horizon Lock maintains level framing through rotations
• No external gimbal required for most high-intensity activities

Can I create third-person shots and ready-to-share edits quickly?

Yes—shoot in full 360° and use the Invisible Selfie Stick plus AI-assisted reframing to produce third-person or cinematic angles with no pole visible. InstaFrame mode delivers instant flat videos with auto-framing or fixed-angle options, so you can share engaging clips fast.

• Invisible Selfie Stick hides mounting gear for clean third-person looks
• AI reframing lets you pick angles after shooting
• InstaFrame offers immediate ready-to-share flat exports with tracking

How durable and practical is the X5 for field use?

The X5 is built for rugged environments: it’s waterproof and features upgraded, replaceable lenses that are scratch-resistant and quick to swap. A redesigned 4-mic array with a new Wind Guard reduces wind noise and enhances voice pickup for clearer vlogs and narration.

• Waterproof construction for aquatic and wet-weather shooting
• Replaceable tough lenses for fast in-field maintenance
• 4-mic array with Wind Guard improves audio in windy conditions

Who is this for? The Insta360 X5 fits creators who demand a compact but powerful 360° rig: action sports athletes, travel vloggers, immersive filmmakers, and outdoor enthusiasts who need robust low-light performance, effortless stabilization, and flexible post-shoot reframing. If you value high-resolution capture (8K), reliable audio in the field, and the convenience of invisible selfie-stick shots plus replaceable hardware for long-term use, the X5 is built to meet those needs.
