The Kidde 30CUDR is a battery-powered 2-in-1 alarm that detects smoke and carbon monoxide with fast sensing, an 85 dB alert, and simple no-wiring installation.

Keep essential protection in key areas of your home with a compact detector designed for straightforward setup and dependable performance. The Kidde 30CUDR combines photoelectric smoke sensing and carbon monoxide monitoring in a single unit powered by two AA batteries (included), making it ideal where hardwiring isn’t available or desired. Built-in features minimize nuisance alerts from cooking or steam while still prioritizing quick detection of real hazards.

How quickly will this alarm respond to smoke?

The Kidde 30CUDR uses advanced sensing that improves response time for smoldering fires, delivering noticeably faster detection than older designs. It’s engineered to alert occupants rapidly while remaining less reactive to benign household activities that commonly trigger false alarms.

• Photoelectric sensing optimized for smoldering-type smoke.
• Internal testing indicates faster average detection versus legacy competitor models.
• 85-decibel audible alarm plus a red LED visual indicator for clear warning.

What powers the detector and how easy is installation?

This model runs on two AA batteries that are supplied with the unit, allowing tool-free placement anywhere you need coverage. Because it requires no hardwiring, you can mount or relocate the alarm quickly, which is useful for rentals, finished basements, or rooms without electrical access.

• Battery-operated with included AA cells for immediate use.
• Simple mounting hardware for wall or ceiling placement.
• Low-battery chirp alerts you when replacement is needed.

Will everyday cooking or steam trigger false alarms?

The 30CUDR incorporates refined sensing logic to reduce false activations from common household sources like cooking fumes and steam. This balance helps prevent unnecessary evacuations while maintaining the ability to detect genuine smoke conditions quickly.

• Advanced sensor filtering designed to ignore harmless particulates.
• Maintains sensitivity to actual smoke while lowering nuisance triggers.
• Visual and audible signals make it easy to identify alarm cause.

Is this alarm certified and suitable for professional use?

The Kidde 30CUDR meets contemporary safety and performance standards, making it appropriate for homeowners, landlords, and contractors who need code-conscious devices. It’s been tested to applicable UL and FCC criteria to ensure consistent behavior in normal residential conditions.

• Tested to UL 217 (smoke) and UL 2034 (carbon monoxide) requirements.
• Compliance testing supports installation in a variety of residential settings.
• Backed by a 10-year limited warranty on the alarm housing from purchase date.
