Lilly's Naturals Diatomaceous Earth Powder — Food-Grade DE with Peppermint, 355 ml Indoor/Outdoor Pest Control

Lilly's Naturals Diatomaceous Earth with peppermint oil is a food-grade powder designed to kill and repel crawling insects like bed bugs, roaches, ants, fleas and other pests around the home.

This lightweight, mineral-based dust combines food-grade diatomaceous earth (DE) with peppermint and clove essential oils to add repellency and a fresh scent. The formula works mechanically—abrading and dehydrating insect exoskeletons—while the botanical oils discourage pests and leave treated areas smelling cleaner. Packaged in an easy-sift spout bottle, the product is intended for indoor and outdoor use where crawling insects gather, and when applied according to directions it’s suitable for households with children and pets.

How does this powder control bed bugs, fleas, ants and roaches?

The diatomaceous earth acts as a physical insecticide: microscopic fossilized silica particles cut through protective insect coatings and cause moisture loss. Over time the affected pests dehydrate and die, while the peppermint and clove oils add a repellent layer that discourages new infestations. Regular, targeted applications increase effectiveness in high-traffic or problem zones.

• Food-grade DE provides a non-chemical, abrasive action against exoskeletons.
• Peppermint and clove oils help deter insects and freshen treated areas.
• Works on contact—best used where insects crawl or hide (cracks, baseboards, carpets).
• Reapply after heavy cleaning or prolonged moisture exposure for continued protection.

Is Lilly's Naturals DE safe to use around my family and pets?

When used as directed, food-grade diatomaceous earth is considered low-toxicity and safe to apply in living areas, but it should not be inhaled or applied directly to pet fur or skin. Keep children and animals away while applying, allow the powder to settle, then vacuum excess after the recommended contact time. Store the bottle out of reach and follow label instructions to maintain safety.

• Food-grade classification reduces chemical exposure risk compared to pesticides.
• Avoid breathing dust; use light masks if applying over large surfaces.
• Do not apply directly on pets; use only as spot treatment on floors and crevices.
• Vacuum treated areas after the label contact time if needed for cleanliness.

Where and how should I apply this insect control powder for best results?

Apply the powder sparingly to dry areas where crawling pests travel or hide: baseboards, under appliances, inside cracks, behind furniture, and along carpet edges. Use the spout bottle to distribute a thin, even layer; avoid clumping. For outdoor perimeter protection, apply to dry concrete, patios, and around door thresholds, reapplying after heavy rain or thorough cleaning.

• Indoor: along mattress seams, bed frames, baseboards, and behind appliances.
• Outdoors: patios, entryways, under eaves, and steps—only on dry surfaces.
• Use a thin layer; too much powder reduces contact efficiency.
• Clean or vacuum treated areas when recommended to renew effectiveness.

How long before I see results and do I need to combine with other treatments?

Some insects may be affected within 24–72 hours after contact, but full reduction can take several days to weeks depending on infestation size and treatment coverage. For heavy or persistent infestations, DE works well as part of an integrated approach alongside sanitation, exclusion, and targeted traps or baits. Avoid relying on a single method for severe problems—combine tactics for best, long-term control.

• Initial insect mortality often appears within days; full control may take longer.
• Pair with cleaning, sealing entry points, and vacuuming for better outcomes.
• Reapply after heavy moisture exposure or deep-cleaning activities.
• Consider professional help for widespread or resistant infestations.
