The Little Tikes Turtle Sandbox is a cheerful, molded-plastic sand play area with a removable shell lid and four built-in seats for shared outdoor play.

Compact, lightweight, and designed for toddlers and preschoolers, this turtle-shaped sandbox creates an inviting play spot in backyards, patios, or daycare settings. Its snap-on shell keeps sand and toys contained when not in use, while four molded seats and umbrella slots give children roomy, cooperative play space. Made in the USA from durable plastic, it assembles quickly and can hold over 100 pounds of sand (sand not included).

How does the turtle lid protect sand and toys between play sessions?

The turtle shell functions as a removable lid that snaps into place and tethers to the base to help keep sand and small toys inside. This design reduces exposure to wind, leaves, and curious pets, and makes cleanup faster for caregivers.

• Removable shell doubles as a cover and secures with snap-and-tether attachments.
• Full-coverage shape minimizes debris entering the sand area.
• Lightweight design for easy removal by adults.

Can more than one child play in the sandbox at the same time?

Yes — the sandbox is built for social play, with four molded seats around the perimeter so multiple children can sit and build together. The seats also include built-in umbrella slots if you want sun protection during longer sessions.

• Four molded seats provide individual seating for collaborative play.
• Umbrella slots on each seat allow shade options.
• Generous interior fits group activities like castle-building or sensory play.

What are the size and material details I should know before buying?

The sandbox measures roughly 38 inches long, 34 inches wide, and 10.5 inches high, and it weighs just over 10 pounds unpacked. Made from sturdy molded plastic in the USA, it holds more than 100 pounds of play sand and requires simple, one-time assembly.

• Lightweight 10.6 lb shell for easy moving and setup.

How does this sandbox encourage imaginative and developmental play?

The turtle sandbox provides an open-ended space for sensory exploration, creative construction, and cooperative role play. Its shape and seating arrangement invite shared storytelling, motor-skill practice, and tactile learning through digging, pouring, and shaping sand.

• Open interior encourages castle-building, roads, and imaginative scenes.
• Social setup helps develop sharing and communication skills.
• Sensory texture of sand supports fine motor and tactile development.
