Melissa & Doug Blockables Town 73-Piece Connectable Wooden Building Set — Snap-Together Blocks & Felt Accessories, Ages 2+

Melissa & Doug Blockables Town is a 73-piece connectable wooden building set that snaps together to create vehicles, playgrounds, and imaginative neighborhood scenes for children ages 2 and up.

This fold-out Town Play Set combines smooth, solid wood blocks with oversized connectors and soft felt accessories to offer durable, hands-on construction play that supports early developmental skills. The set includes illustrated assembly suggestions but is built to encourage freeform mixing and matching—kids can follow guides to build a swing, carousel, or car, or invent entirely new structures. All pieces are compatible with the rest of the Blockables collection and store neatly in the reinforced carry box that converts into a little play surface.

How do Blockables help small hands learn to build?

The blocks are sized for preschool grips and use large, forgiving connectors so toddlers can snap and pull pieces apart without frustration. Repeating assembly and disassembly strengthens fine motor control, hand-eye coordination, and concentration while keeping play low-stress and enjoyable.

• Oversized connectors designed for little fingers
• Smooth, chunky wooden pieces that resist splintering
• Felt elements add tactile contrast to wooden textures
• Illustrated guide supports step-by-step practice

What kinds of scenes and toys can children build?

The Town Play Set includes pieces to construct a mini neighborhood: rides, a vehicle, pets, and buildings are all possible straight from the guide. Because elements are modular and compatible with other Blockables sets, kids can enlarge their town and adapt pieces to suit new stories.

• Pre-designed builds: swing, rocker, carousel, vehicle, and pets
• Four play figures included for role-play and storytelling
• Expandable: connects with any other Blockables collections
• 32 connectors and 4 wheels for motion and stability

How easy is cleanup and storage for parents?

The packaging doubles as practical storage and a travel-friendly play surface. After playtime, pieces tuck back into the sturdy corrugated box with a soft handle, making transport simple and encouraging quick tidying habits.

• Reinforced box stores all 73 pieces neatly
• Box lid folds out into a compact play mat
• Lightweight, soft handle for easy carrying
• Durable materials stand up to repeated play

Is this set safe and sustainably sourced?

Materials are solid wood with smooth finishes and felt accents, designed for durable, long-lasting play rather than disposable plastic. New inventory carries Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certification, reflecting responsible sourcing practices.

• Solid wood construction for longevity and safety
• FSC-certified wood on new inventory (FSC C156584)
• Rounded edges and non-splinter finishes for preschool use
• Patent-pending connector design made for small children
