NOCO Group U1 Snap-Top Battery Box BGU1 — 12V Ventilated, Impact-Resistant Enclosure

The NOCO Snap-Top BGU1 is a rugged Group U1 12V battery box that secures, ventilates, and protects batteries for lawn & garden equipment, generators, gate openers, and marine use.

The NOCO BGU1 combines an improved snap-lock lid with a reinforced structure to deliver a durable, easy-to-install battery enclosure for Group U1 batteries. Built to resist impact, acid, UV and oil exposure, it meets USCG 183.420 and ABYC E-10.7 standards. The box includes a hold-down strap, mounting tray, screws and a divider so you can mount and protect a 12V U1 battery quickly while routing cables cleanly.

How does the snap-top design simplify installation?

The redesigned snap-top lid locks securely without complex hardware, cutting installation steps and tools. Internal pre-drilled pilot holes allow mounting directly to a surface when a strap isn’t needed, while the included 36-inch strap and tray provide a robust alternative for demanding use.

• Snap-lock lid for tool-free closing and quick access
• Pre-drilled internal pilot holes for direct mounting
• Included hold-down strap and mounting tray for heavy-duty installs
• Four #8x1" self-tapping screws supplied for fast attachment

What protection does the BGU1 offer for batteries in outdoor or marine settings?

The BGU1’s reinforced honeycomb lattice and heavy-duty polymer resist impacts and environmental damage down to -20°F (-28°C). It contains spills and prevents accidental terminal shorts while allowing ventilation to avoid gas buildup, giving a safer environment for batteries used in exposed or mobile applications.

• Reinforced structure with honeycomb lattice for impact resistance
• Acid, gas, UV and oil resistant materials for outdoor durability
• Designed to contain acid and prevent terminal shorting
• Optional ventilation holes to reduce gas accumulation

Can I route cables and access terminals easily with this battery box?

Yes. The BGU1 provides enhanced cable entry ports on the front and sides to accommodate different wiring layouts, so you can route cables where they best fit your equipment. The included battery divider and tray make it simple to position the battery for clear terminal access and organized wiring.

• Multiple cable entry ports for flexible routing options
• Front and side ports for convenient terminal access
• Battery divider ensures stable positioning and easier connections
• Tray keeps battery elevated and aligned for consistent cable runs

What comes in the box and does it meet marine safety codes?
