PHILIPS DVD Player for TV — Compact HDMI 1080P All-Region with USB & RCA

PHILIPS compact HDMI DVD player upconverts DVDs to 1080P, plays discs from any region, and connects to TVs or stereo systems via HDMI, RCA or USB.

This PHILIPS DVD player is a simple, plug-and-play unit made to revive your DVD and CD collection, deliver clearer video on modern HDTVs, and feed audio into home stereo setups. It supports multi-region playback, plays common disc formats and media files from USB drives, and includes HDMI output plus RCA connections for flexible installations. A dedicated Screen Fit feature ensures the picture fills the TV display without manual resizing.

How does this player improve DVD picture quality on my HDTV?

The player upscales standard DVDs from 480P to 1080P using an internal 10-bit/108 video DAC, which preserves detail and reduces visible artifacts for a sharper image on HD screens. Screen Fit quickly adjusts output so the video fills the display area without stretching or black bars.

• 1080P upconversion enhances DVD resolution on HDTVs
• 10-bit/108 video DAC for more accurate color and smoother gradients
• Screen Fit button to automatically match TV aspect and fill the screen

What discs and media can the PHILIPS DVD player play?

This unit is an all-region DVD player, so it accepts DVDs from Zone 1–6 and supports a wide range of disc formats and common file types. You can also play music, photos and video directly from a USB thumb drive using the front USB input.

• Compatible with CD, VCD, DVD, DVD±R/RW and MP3 files
• All-region playback for international DVDs
• USB media link for movies, music and photos from external drives

How does it connect to my TV and stereo system?

The player includes an HDMI output for single-cable audio/video to modern TVs and an RCA output for older televisions or direct connection to a stereo receiver. An included HDMI cable and RCA cable make setup straightforward, and the included remote controls the player from the couch.

• HDMI output for 1080P video and digital audio to HDTVs
• RCA outputs to connect to older TVs or amplifiers
• USB input for external media playback; remote control included

What should I know about audio and format limitations?

The player has a built-in Dolby decoder for improved stereo playback and works well with TV speakers or paired to a home stereo. Note that this is a standard DVD player and does not play Blu-ray discs or advanced Blu-ray formats.

• Built-in Dolby decoding for richer audio from DVDs and CDs
• Works with both TV speakers and external home stereo systems
• Not compatible with Blu-ray discs or Blu-ray-specific features

Who is this for? This PHILIPS DVD player fits households that want an easy way to play region-locked DVDs and legacy media on modern HDTVs, plus users who need simple USB playback and basic stereo integration. It’s ideal for living rooms, bedrooms, dorms, and anywhere you want a compact, reliable player without Blu-ray requirements or streaming subscriptions.
