PixelMan 1080P AHD Backup Camera PMD2A-S — Metal 170° Wide-Angle, IP69 Waterproof Night Vision

PixelMan PMD2A-S is a compact metal 1080P AHD backup camera that delivers a 170° wide field of view, improved low-light performance, and IP69 waterproof protection for reliable rear visibility.

Designed as an upgraded reversing camera, the PMD2A-S combines a larger imaging chip, high-transmittance optical glass, and an all-alloy housing to produce clearer daytime video and stronger night vision. It supports HD/AHD signal switching to display full 1080P when paired with a compatible AHD monitor, and includes versatile mounting options so you can fit it discreetly on vehicles ranging from cars and SUVs to RVs and light trucks.

How does the PMD2A-S improve image clarity and night vision?

The PMD2A-S uses a larger 1/2.7-inch imaging sensor and an F1.4 optical glass lens to increase pixel capture and light intake. This combination yields brighter colors, sharper details, and better low-light sensitivity compared with cameras that use smaller chips.

• 1/2.7" sensor for higher pixel capture and dynamic range
• F1.4 aperture and high-transmittance glass for improved night visibility
• Enhanced color saturation and brightness for truer daytime images

What signal and resolution options are supported?

The camera outputs analog video and can switch between standard HD and AHD formats. When connected to an AHD-compatible display, the PMD2A-S provides 1080P resolution for clearer reversing images and more reliable on-screen detail.

• AHD/HD switching to match your monitor’s input
• Full 1080P display when used with an AHD-capable screen
• RCA video connector for broad compatibility with in-dash and aftermarket monitors

How durable is the construction for outdoor vehicle use?

PixelMan built the PMD2A-S with an alloy housing and Nano waterproof sealing to resist temperature shifts and water intrusion that commonly degrade cheaper plastic cameras. It’s rated to IP69 standards to withstand pressure washing and extended exposure to the elements.

• Sturdy metal housing to prevent seasonal expansion and cracking
• Nano waterproof sealant protecting internal circuitry
• IP69-level waterproofing for heavy-duty outdoor resilience

What mounting and installation choices are available?

The camera ships with two mounting brackets that allow for hidden or exposed placement, including an option that fits behind the license plate without drilling into the vehicle body. A thick copper-core power cable and accessories are included to simplify connection and improve signal reliability.

• Two-bracket system for license-plate or surface mounting
• Hidden installation option minimizes visible hardware
• Thick copper-core wiring and included hardware for easier setup

Who is this for: The PixelMan PMD2A-S is aimed at drivers who want a rugged, higher-resolution reversing camera with strong night performance and professional-grade waterproofing. It suits vehicle owners upgrading factory cameras, installers fitting aftermarket monitors that accept RCA/AHD input, and anyone who needs a compact, durable camera for cars, SUVs, trucks, or RVs. Confirm your monitor accepts RCA/AHD input before purchase, since this unit is not compatible with mirror cams or dashcams that lack an RCA video port.
