Plantation Organic Blackstrap Molasses, 444 ml — Unsulphured USDA Organic, Rich Flavour & Natural Minerals

Plantation Organic Blackstrap Molasses is a thick, unsulphured organic syrup made from the final extraction of sugar cane, offering deep, complex flavor and natural minerals for culinary and gardening uses.

Harvested from organically grown sugar cane and certified USDA Organic and Kosher, this 15 oz jar of Plantation Blackstrap Molasses delivers a bold, bittersweet profile that layers well into baked goods, savory glazes, sauces, and warm beverages. Because it’s unsulphured and free from preservatives and artificial additives, it’s a pantry-friendly alternative to refined sugars when you want a richer taste and added mineral content.

What does Plantation Organic Blackstrap Molasses taste like and how does it change recipes?

The syrup has a concentrated, robust molasses flavor with subtle nutty and slightly bitter notes that deepen the color and aroma of foods. It won’t replace granular sugar one-for-one in all recipes, but it enhances complexity in cookies, gingerbread, marinades, and barbecue sauces.

• Adds deep caramel and toasted notes to baked goods.
• Balances acidity in barbecue sauces and savory glazes.
• Darkens and flavors breads, cookies, and fruitcakes.
• Pairs well with spices like ginger, cinnamon, and cloves.

How should I use this molasses in drinks and cooking?

Use small amounts to sweeten and enrich beverages like hot toddies, coffee, or molasses-based smoothies. In cooking, stir into marinades, stews, and baked beans or swap a portion of sugar for molasses to add depth without excessive sweetness.

• Stir a teaspoon into hot drinks for added body and flavor.
• Replace up to 25–50% of sugar in cookies and cakes for moistness.
• Whisk into glazes or marinades for a glossy finish and savory balance.
• Blend with mustard or vinegar for a quick sauce or dressing.

Is Plantation Blackstrap Molasses nutritious and what minerals does it contain?

While not a health cure, this blackstrap molasses provides naturally occurring minerals like iron, calcium, potassium, and magnesium due to its concentration from the final cane syrup extraction. It’s a flavorful way to introduce trace minerals into recipes, though portion sizes should remain moderate because it is still a sugar-based syrup.

• Contains naturally derived iron and calcium from sugar cane processing.
• Includes potassium and magnesium in concentrated form.
• Free from sulphur, preservatives, and artificial ingredients.
• Certified USDA Organic and Kosher for ingredient assurance.

Can this molasses be used outside the kitchen, for instance in gardening?

Yes — diluted blackstrap molasses is sometimes used by gardeners as a soil amendment to feed beneficial microorganisms and help condition soil when applied properly. Use sparingly and follow recommended dilution rates; it’s intended as a supplemental soil food rather than a fertilizer replacement.

• Dilute before applying to avoid harming plants with concentrated sugar.
• Supports microbial activity when used as a supplemental feed.
• Commonly mixed with water at low concentrations for soil applications.

Who is this for? Plantation Organic Blackstrap Molasses suits home bakers, cooks, and beverage enthusiasts who want a bold, unsulphured sweetener with added mineral content and certified organic credentials. It’s also useful for gardeners seeking a natural soil amendment. If you’re replacing refined sugar for richer flavor, experimenting with traditional recipes, or wanting a pantry ingredient with versatile culinary and supplemental uses, this 15 oz jar offers a concentrated, reliable option.
