Poolmaster 5-Way Pool & Spa Water Test Kit — Liquid Reagents, Acrylic Comparator & Carry Case

Poolmaster’s 5-Way Pool & Spa Water Test Kit is a liquid-reagent kit that measures chlorine, bromine, pH, acid demand and total alkalinity to help you keep pool and spa water balanced.

Keep water safe and comfortable by testing the core chemical readings that affect clarity, comfort and equipment longevity. This compact kit combines a clear-view acrylic comparator, five liquid reagents and a sturdy polyethylene storage case so you can perform reliable tests at the poolside or take the kit with you to seasonal openings and routine maintenance checks.

How do I use this kit to test my pool water?

Collect a sample in the acrylic comparator block, add the specified drops of each reagent, then compare the resulting color to the integrated color chips to read levels. Follow the included directions for drop counts and wait times for the most consistent results.

• Fill comparator to marked level for each test.
• Add recommended drops of Solution #1 through #5 in order.
• Compare colors against the molded color chart in daylight or consistent shade.
• Record readings and adjust chemicals based on measured chlorine/bromine, pH and alkalinity.

What exactly does each reagent measure and why does it matter?

The kit’s reagents are formulated to isolate five important measurements: sanitizers (chlorine or bromine), pH, acid demand and total alkalinity. Together these values indicate whether water is safe, comfortable and non-corrosive to pool surfaces and equipment.

• Solution #1: prepares sample for sanitizer measurement.
• Solution #2 (Phenol Red): determines pH specifically for a 5-way kit.
• Solution #3: reacts to reveal sanitizer concentration.
• Solutions #4 and #5: measure total alkalinity and acid demand.

How accurate and durable is the comparator and packaging?

The clear-view acrylic test block has embossed markings and an integrated color guide for easier, repeatable reads compared with worn paper strips. The polyethylene case neatly stores all bottles, the comparator and caps, and Solution #1 includes a sealed cap to meet transport rules.

• Embossed markings ensure visible, long-lasting measurement lines.
• Integrated color chips eliminate loose paper charts and reduce guesswork.
• Sturdy case protects liquid reagents from spills and light exposure.

When should I test my pool or spa with this kit?

Routine testing keeps conditions stable: test more often after heavy use, after heavy rain, when adding chemicals, or when opening and closing a season. For many homeowners, a weekly check of sanitizer, pH and alkalinity is a practical baseline; increase frequency as needed for hot tubs or fluctuating conditions.

• Weekly checks for regular pools.
• More frequent tests after storms or heavy bather load.
• Before and after chemical adjustments to confirm results.

Who is this for: The Poolmaster 5-Way kit is designed for homeowners, pool service technicians and spa owners who want a simple, portable liquid-reagent system to measure the five core water chemistry values. It’s suitable for backyard pools, hot tubs and small commercial spas where visual color-matching and reagent-based readings are preferred over test strips or digital testers. If you need a complete, affordable kit with clear markings and a secure storage case, this Poolmaster set is a practical choice.
