RIDGID EZ Change Plumbing Wrench for Tap Installation — Compact under-sink tool with interchangeable aluminium inserts

The RIDGID 57003 EZ Change Plumbing Wrench is a compact, multipurpose hand tool designed to install and remove faucets, strainers, supply lines, and shut-off valves in tight under-sink spaces.

Built to withstand regular trade use, this lightweight wrench pairs a reinforced plastic handle with interchangeable aluminum inserts to tackle a range of plumbing fasteners without damaging chrome finishes. Its slim profile and multiple engagement points reduce frustrating awkward turns under sinks, while built-in retention and leverage features speed installations and service work.

How does the EZ Change wrench simplify under-sink faucet installation?

The tool consolidates several common plumbing functions into one handheld unit so you don’t need multiple specialty sockets. A cylindrical deep-welled insert fits many single-hole faucet mountings and its pronged retainer holds 3- and 4-slot strainers steady while you tighten or remove the strainer nut.

• 5/8-inch deep-welled socket for single-hole faucet mounts
• Pronged retainer secures 3- and 4-slot strainers
• Slim shape reaches confined mounting areas beneath sinks

Which fasteners and sizes will this wrench work on?

RIDGID included a six-sided cubed insert that fits common nut sizes used on supply lines and angle stops, plus a notched handle end to engage basin mounting tabs. The tool handles a broad range of clamp nuts and mounting hardware so you can switch tasks without changing toolsets.

• Six-sided cubed insert fits 5/8", 3/4", 7/8", 15/16", and 1" nuts
• Notched handle works with 2, 3, 4, and 6-tab basin mounting nuts
• Open slot in handle clears supply lines for easier access

What design details help break stuck or corroded nuts loose?

The cylindrical insert includes a side hole sized to accept a screwdriver or rod for extra leverage when a nut is seized. Lightweight aluminum inserts inside the reinforced handle give you durable engagement while keeping the overall tool easy to maneuver in cramped spaces.

• Side hole in cylindrical insert accepts a lever tool for breaking loose stubborn fasteners
• Aluminum inserts provide durable contact points while minimizing weight
• Reinforced plastic body resists wear from repeated use in service environments

How does this wrench protect finishes and delicate fittings?

The six-sided cubed insert is sized to engage supply line and clamp nuts securely without slipping across chrome surfaces. That positive fit reduces mar marks and limits the need for wrap or added padding, maintaining the appearance of exposed fittings.

• Precise six-sided engagement reduces slippage on chrome nuts
• Pronged retainer eliminates the need for fingers or makeshift grips on strainers
• Open slot clears supply lines to avoid pinching or scratching tubing

Who is this for: The RIDGID 57003 EZ Change Plumbing Wrench is ideal for plumbers, maintenance technicians, and DIYers who frequently work under sinks and need a single, space-saving tool for faucet mountings, angle stops, supply lines, and strainer baskets. It’s best for projects where accessibility and protecting visible finishes matter, and for anyone who wants to reduce tool switching during installations and repairs.
