This steam iron pairs 1,725 watts of power with a Microsteam HD soleplate and a concentrated metal tip to deliver consistent, salon-quality pressing at home. With a strong steam boost, multiple fabric settings, and built-in protections against calc and dripping, the Focus Excel is built to handle everyday laundry and more demanding pressing tasks. The iron’s design balances raw performance with user-friendly controls so you can move from delicate silk to heavy cotton without guessing.

How does the Rowenta Focus Excel remove stubborn creases?

The DW5280 achieves crease removal through a combination of high steam output and targeted steam delivery. A steam boost of up to 135 g/min tackles thick fabrics and set-in wrinkles, while continuous steam keeps a steady flow for general ironing.

• Powerful steam boost: up to 135 g/min for deep penetration into fabrics
• Continuous steam up to 35 g/min for sustained smoothing
• Over 400 active steam holes spread across the soleplate for even coverage

What makes the Microsteam HD soleplate different for everyday use?

The Microsteam HD soleplate was engineered to disperse steam uniformly so you don’t need multiple passes to smooth a garment. Its high-precision metal tip reaches seams, collars, and tricky areas for a tidy finish without excessive heat contact.

• Patented hole pattern improves steam distribution across the entire plate
• Precision tip for accessing narrow or detailed areas
• Smooth gliding surface reduces effort and protects fabrics

How does this iron protect itself and my clothes over time?

The Focus Excel includes maintenance and safety features that prolong the iron’s working life and protect garments during ironing sessions. Anti-calc technology and a self-clean cycle reduce mineral buildup, while anti-drip and auto-off increase user safety and prevent water stains.

• Self-clean function flushes impurities to maintain steam performance
• Anti-Calc system reduces calcium buildup for longer life
• Anti-drip prevents water spots when ironing at lower temperatures
• Auto-off adds safety if the iron is left unattended

Which fabrics and situations is the Focus Excel best suited for?

The DW5280 is versatile enough for weekly laundry staples and occasional heavy-duty pressing. Variable steam settings let you adapt to delicate silks, everyday synthetics, and heavyweight cotton or linen without guessing at temperature or steam output.

• Variable steam control for silk, rayon, wool, polyester, cotton, and denim
• Ideal for households with mixed fabric wardrobes and regular ironing needs
• Steam boost for upholstery touch-ups and thicker textile layers
