Rubbermaid Large Hip-Hugger Laundry Basket 1.5-Bushel White — Stackable, Slim Depth for Closets

Rubbermaid's Large Hip-Hugger Laundry Basket is a 1.5-bushel, curved, stackable plastic hamper designed for easy one-handed carrying and snag-free transport of clothes.

This lightweight, American-made laundry basket blends a hip-resting shape with three grab-through handles and a smooth finish so you can move laundry quickly from bedroom to washer without tugging or catching delicate fabrics. Its slim depth fits into closets and dorm rooms while the stackable design keeps spare baskets organized when not in use.

How does the hip-hugger shape make carrying laundry easier?

The basket's curved profile conforms to your hip, letting you secure it against your body and carry a load with one hand. This reduces strain on your arms and frees your other hand for doors or folding. The slimmer front-to-back dimension also helps navigate tight hallways.

• Curved body rests against the hip for stable one-handed carrying
• Shallow depth (9.38" W) fits narrow spaces and closets
• Lightweight material lowers effort when loaded

What makes this basket safe for delicate clothing?

The hamper is molded with a smooth finish and rounded edges to prevent fabric snags and pulls. Ventilation and solid walls keep items contained without rough seams or protruding hardware that could damage textiles. Its rigid shape also prevents the basket from collapsing onto delicate garments.

• Smooth molded plastic finish protects soft fabrics
• Rounded rims and openings reduce catching points
• Sturdy construction keeps form under load, avoiding fabric compression

How do the handles and capacity support everyday use?

Three grab-through handles give multiple ways to lift and maneuver the basket, whether transferring to a washing machine or carrying up stairs. At 1.5 bushels, the capacity is large enough for a typical load yet compact enough to store when not in use. The handles are positioned for balanced lifting and quick access.

• Three sturdy grab-through handles for balanced lifting
• 1.5-bushel capacity holds a regular laundry load
• Handle placement enables one- or two-handed carrying

Can this basket be stored easily when not in use?

The Low-profile depth and stackable design let multiple baskets nest or stack to save floor and closet space. Its clean white color and simple silhouette also tuck neatly into bathrooms, dorms, or utility rooms without visual clutter. Durable plastic resists staining and is easy to wipe clean.

• Stackable shape reduces storage footprint
• 17.75" L x 9.38" W x 25.75" H fits narrow spots and shelves
• Washable plastic surface for low-maintenance care
