SABRE Bear Spray Frontiersman MAX — 12.2 m Range, 2.0% Strength, EPA-Registered with Glow-in-the-Dark Quick-Draw

SABRE Frontiersman MAX is a-USA-made, EPA-registered bear and mountain lion deterrent delivering maximum-allowed 2.0% Major Capsaicinoids with a 40-foot effective range.

Built for hikers, hunters, campers and backcountry travelers, Frontiersman MAX combines lab-tested consistency, a dense fog spray pattern and several carry options so you can access protection quickly when wildlife encounters occur. SABRE formulates and independently tests each canister in accredited labs to ensure consistent strength and heat, and the product replaces HFC propellants with an environmentally friendlier HFO to reduce greenhouse impact.

How far will the Frontiersman MAX spray reach and how long does it last?

The Max formula produces a dense fog effective out to approximately 40 feet (12 m), giving distance to deter charging animals before they close in. Total usable discharge is about 6–7 seconds, delivered in multiple short bursts for flexible deployment.

• Effective range: up to 40 feet (12 m)
• Total spray time: roughly 6–7 seconds per canister
• Spray pattern: dense fog for area coverage and miss tolerance
• Designed for bursts to conserve product and create barrier time

What makes this bear spray legally maximum strength and reliable?

Frontiersman MAX is formulated at 2.0% Major Capsaicinoids, the strongest concentration allowed by law, and is EPA-registered for use against both bears and mountain lions. SABRE uses in-house HPLC testing and independent ISO/Nadcap-accredited labs to verify each batch for consistent potency and performance.

• Concentration: 2.0% Major Capsaicinoids (maximum allowed)
• Regulation: EPA-registered pesticide device (EPA Reg. No. 72265-1)
• Quality checks: HPLC testing and accredited-lab validation
• Field-proven: independent field testing supports real-world performance

How fast can I access this spray and what carry options are available?

Quick access is built into the design with a glow-in-the-dark safety clip that releases with one hand for low-light situations. Multiple carry systems let you choose what fits your activity: quiet elastic belt holster, chest strap for hands-free carry, or a 3-in-1 system with metal clip, carabiner and chest strap.

• Glow-in-the-dark safety clip for rapid one-hand release
• Carry choices: belt holster, chest strap, or 3-in-1 clip/carabiner/strap
• Slim canister fits cup holders and pack pockets for easy storage
• Quiet quick-draw holster reduces noise during retrieval

Is Frontiersman MAX environmentally responsible and safe to use outdoors?

SABRE updated the propellant to HFO-1234ze, replacing harmful HFCs to reduce greenhouse gas emissions while maintaining reliable delivery. The formula is EPA-registered and formulated specifically as a wildlife deterrent; it is intended to stop aggressive animal behavior without long-term environmental harm when used per label instructions.

• Propellant: HFO-1234ze, lower global warming potential
• Regulatory approvals: EPA-registered; field-tested for effectiveness
• Designed for wildlife deterrence, not for indiscriminate environmental use
• Manufactured in the USA with accredited lab verification
