Salt-Away Salt Removal Concentrate Gallon (3.79 L) — Biodegradable, Corrosion-Inhibiting

Salt-Away® Concentrate Gallon is a water-based, biodegradable concentrate designed to remove salt deposits from boats, engines, vehicles, and equipment while leaving corrosion-inhibiting residue.

If you already have a Salt-Away® kit or mixing unit, this 128 fl oz (3.79 L) refill is an economical choice to keep on hand for regular salt removal. The formula is non-hazardous and biodegradable, formulated to dissolve salt and brine buildup and to be applied with the Salt-Away® Mixing Unit, a garden/compression pump sprayer, or a pressure washer. Note that Salt-Away is water-based and will freeze at 32°F (0°C); allow frozen product to thaw naturally rather than forcing it.

How does Salt-Away® Concentrate clean salt from surfaces?

The concentrate breaks down and dissolves salt crystals and brine so they can be rinsed or sprayed away, reducing corrosion stress. It leaves behind a light corrosion-inhibiting film that helps protect cleaned surfaces without leaving heavy residues.

• Water-based formula that penetrates and lifts salt deposits
• Works on metal, fiberglass, painted surfaces, and plastics
• Leaves corrosion inhibitors after application—no fresh water rinse required
• Biodegradable and non-hazardous for safer handling and disposal

What equipment works best for applying the 128 fl oz concentrate?

You can dilute and apply Salt-Away® Concentrate with the Salt-Away® Mixing Unit for precise ratios, or use a garden/compression pump sprayer or pressure washer for larger tasks. Choose the applicator that matches the size of the job—mixing unit for maintenance, sprayer or pressure washer for full washes or engine flushes.

• Salt-Away® Mixing Unit for exact dilution control
• Garden or compression pump sprayer for hulls and deck areas
• Pressure washer for heavy buildup and quick coverage
• Safe for engine flushes on inboards, outboards and personal watercraft

How should I store and handle the concentrate safely?

Keep the container sealed in a cool, dry place away from extreme cold; the product will freeze at 32°F (0°C) and should be allowed to thaw naturally if that happens. Because Salt-Away® is non-hazardous and biodegradable, routine handling is straightforward, but normal precautions—avoid eye contact and store away from children—are recommended.

• Store upright, sealed, away from freezing temperatures
• If product freezes, do not force thaw; thaw at room temperature
• Use appropriate personal protection—gloves and eye protection as needed
• Follow local disposal guidance for biodegradable cleaning products

How much concentrate will I need for regular maintenance?

Volume needs depend on frequency of use, surface area, and application method. A gallon of concentrate dilutes to multiple gallons of working solution using the mixing unit, making it cost-effective for seasonal boaters, fleet maintenance, or equipment exposed to road salt.

• Dilute per Salt-Away® Mixing Unit instructions for typical maintenance
• Pressure washer or sprayer applications require more prepared solution
• Consider frequency and area covered to estimate refill intervals

Who is this for: Salt-Away® Concentrate Gallon is intended for recreational boat owners, marinas, service yards, fleet managers, and homeowners who need an effective, biodegradable salt-removal solution. It’s well suited for anyone who already uses the Salt-Away® system or who wants a reliable concentrate to use with sprayers and pressure washers for routine de-salting and engine flushes.
