Scotts Turf Builder SummerGuard Lawn Food — 465 m² fertiliser with insect control, heat-stress protection

Scotts Turf Builder SummerGuard Lawn Food with Insect Control is an all-in-one summer lawn fertilizer that feeds turf and protects it from common lawn-infesting insects for up to 5,000 sq. ft.

SummerGuard combines a balanced lawn fertilizer with an insect control ingredient so you can nourish grass while addressing pests that show up in warm months. The granules are formulated for use on all common grass types and are intended for application when insect activity or damage is first noticed. One 13.35 lb bag treats up to 5,000 square feet and is suitable for broadcast or drop spreader application.

How does SummerGuard help my lawn cope with heat and drought?

This formula supplies nutrients that strengthen grass blades and root systems so turf can better withstand high temperatures and intermittent water stress. Regular feeding encourages deeper roots and more resilient growth patterns without scorching when applied as directed.

• Balanced fertilizer nutrients to support root and leaf vigor
• Guaranteed not to burn the lawn when used correctly
• Works during summer months when grass is under heat stress

Which insects does this product control and when should I apply it?

SummerGuard targets many of the insects that damage lawns in warm seasons, including ants, chinch bugs, armyworms, fleas, ticks, crickets, grasshoppers and spiders. Apply to a dry lawn as soon as you observe insect activity or visible damage; follow label instructions and avoid combining with other insect or weed products for at least seven days.

• Kills and offers protection against a list of common lawn insects
• Best applied at first sign of insects or turf injury for timely control
• Use a rotary/broadcast or drop spreader for even coverage

How do I apply SummerGuard for best results?

Spread granules evenly over a dry lawn using a Scotts broadcast/rotary spreader or a drop spreader, following the recommended setting and rate on the bag for 5,000 sq. ft. Water according to the product directions or rely on rainfall as indicated; do not mix other weed, disease, or insect treatments within seven days before or after application.

• Apply to a dry lawn for accurate granule distribution
• Calibrate your spreader using Scotts guidance for uniform coverage
• Follow watering recommendations and label precautions closely

Will SummerGuard harm my existing grass or landscape plants?

When applied as directed, the product is formulated not to burn turf and is compatible with most lawn grasses. Avoid applying directly to ornamental flowers, vegetable gardens, or non-target plants and keep granules off hardscapes and water features to prevent runoff.

• Guaranteed lawn-safe when used according to label directions
• Keep away from non-target plants, pools, and ponds to reduce risk
• Store and handle granules to prevent accidental spreading
