Scratch and Peck Feeds Oyster Shell Chickens & Ducks is a 4 lb pouch of pure, flaked oyster shell designed to supply natural calcium for laying birds while using recyclable, compostable packaging.

This pouch contains flaked oyster shell formulated for backyard flocks of chickens and ducks. Made and sourced in the Pacific Northwest, the feed supplement avoids fillers and processed additives, offering a straightforward mineral source you can mix into feeders or offer free-choice. The product supports shell strength and overall mineral balance without bleaching or coral additives.

How will this oyster shell help my hens and ducks?

Oyster shell is a widely used source of dietary calcium for laying birds. Providing a dedicated calcium supplement helps birds access extra minerals when they need them for eggshell formation, rather than relying solely on their primary feed.

• Pure flaked oyster shell for consistent calcium availability
• No bleach, coral, or filler shells—clean mineral source
• Can be offered free-choice or measured into layer rations
• Works alongside balanced feeds to support normal shell development

How do I use the 4 lb pouch in my flock routine?

The pouch is sized for small flocks and hobby keepers; use it to top off feeders or place in a separate grit dish. Offer oyster shell free-choice to laying birds so they can self-regulate intake based on need, or provide a measured amount mixed into layer feed as directed by your feeding plan.

• Place in a clean, dry grit feeder or separate dish
• Available for birds free-choice throughout the day
• Mix small amounts into daily layer feed if preferred
• Suitable for chickens and ducks that are actively laying

What makes Scratch and Peck Feeds' oyster shell different?

This product emphasizes ingredient purity and sustainable packaging. The oyster shell is flaked for easy consumption, free from bleaching or coral additives, and the pouch is recyclable and compostable, reducing waste for eco-conscious keepers.

• Flaked texture for easy pecking and limited waste
• Free from fillers and common allergens found in some blends
• Recyclable and compostable pouch for lower environmental impact
• Sourced and produced in the USA and Canada (Pacific Northwest)

How should I store and handle the pouch to keep product quality?

Keep the pouch sealed and stored in a cool, dry place to prevent moisture and clumping. Use clean scoops or dishes to avoid cross-contamination, and rotate stock so older pouches are used first for best freshness.

• Reseal pouch between uses to stay dry
• Store away from rodents and pests
• Use dedicated, clean feeders or dishes for dispensing
• Follow first-in, first-out for freshness management
