SmartCat 32" Pioneer Pet Ultimate Scratching Post — Beige woven sisal, 16"x16" stable base

This SmartCat Pioneer Pet Ultimate Scratching Post is built to satisfy a cat’s instinct to scratch while fitting seamlessly into neutral home decor. At 32 inches high with a broad 16" x 16" base, the post gives cats a vertical surface for full-body stretches and confident scratching without wobble. The woven sisal fiber is durable and textured to attract claws while resisting quick wear.

How does the 32-inch height benefit my cat?

The full 32" height allows most domestic cats to extend their bodies completely, which supports muscle conditioning and natural stretching behavior. Vertical stretching is also an important part of scent-marking and territory communication for cats, so the height encourages natural instincts.

• Enables full-body extension for muscular toning and flexibility
• Provides an appealing vertical marking surface for territorial behaviors
• Reduces the chance cats will scratch furniture that lacks height

Is the post stable enough for active scratching?

Yes — the wide 16" x 16" square base is designed to reduce tipping and wobbling during vigorous use. The solid construction shifts the center of gravity low and wide, so even playful cats can dig in without overturning the post.

• 16" x 16" base for increased contact with the floor
• Low center of gravity minimizes tipping during intense activity
• Simple screw assembly secures the post firmly to the base

What makes the sisal covering a better choice than carpet?

Woven sisal provides a fibrous, claw-friendly texture that encourages scratching while resisting shredding and matting like carpeted options can do. Sisal removes old nail sheaths effectively without snagging, and it maintains its attractive appearance longer under regular use.

• Natural fibrous weave invites scratching and claw maintenance
• More durable than carpeted surfaces that can fray or snag nails
• Neutral beige tone blends with a variety of interiors

How easy is assembly and maintenance?

Assembly is quick and tool-light: the post attaches to the base using the two included screws. For upkeep, occasional surface vacuuming or brushing keeps sisal clean; replace the post if fibers wear thin after heavy use to maintain safety and performance.

• Fast setup with two included screws — simple and secure
• Low-maintenance: brush or vacuum to remove loose fibers
• Replace when heavy wear appears to ensure continued safety

It suits owners who want a durable, low-profile scratching solution that blends with neutral decor and stands up to regular use.
