Smith & Nephew Cica-Care silicone gel scar sheet 5" x 6" — reusable, waterproof, flexible

Smith & Nephew Cica-Care is a reusable silicone gel adhesive sheet (5" x 6") designed to protect and support scar management by providing a flexible, semi-occlusive barrier that adheres comfortably to skin.

This 5" x 6" Cica-Care sheet from Smith & Nephew is a soft, durable silicone gel dressing made for repeated use on healed wounds and scars. The sheet combines an adhesive backing with a semi-occlusive surface so it stays in place while allowing a controlled, moist microenvironment. It’s waterproof and flexible, conforming to body contours to maintain contact with the scarred area through everyday movement and brief exposure to water.

How does this silicone gel sheet stay in place during daily activities?

The sheet uses a medical-grade adhesive backing that secures the silicone to intact skin without additional tapes or covers. Its flexibility and stretch accommodate motion, which helps maintain continuous contact across curved or moving areas.

• Adhesive backing designed for repeated application and removal
• Flexible silicone conforms to contours like joints and curving skin
• Waterproof construction suitable for showering
• Durable material tolerates everyday wear and movement

What makes this sheet reusable and how should it be cared for?

Cica-Care is formulated to be washed and reused multiple times, preserving its adhesive and silicone properties when cleaned correctly. Routine gentle washing removes oils and residues that can reduce stickiness, helping the sheet remain effective across many uses.

• Gently wash with mild soap and water after each use
• Air-dry on a clean surface, adhesive side up
• Replace if edges curl, adhesive degrades, or surface becomes damaged
• Store flat in a clean, dry place away from direct sunlight

Which skin areas and scar types is a 5" x 6" sheet best suited for?

The 5" x 6" size covers medium-sized scars and areas that need a broad, uniform contact patch, such as sections of the chest, thigh, shoulder blades, or joints. Its size and pliability make it useful where a larger single piece of silicone is preferred to multiple smaller strips.

• Medium-length linear scars and surgical incision sites
• Flat or gently contoured areas like chest, upper arm, or thigh
• Areas requiring a single continuous sheet for consistent contact
• Use in combination with smaller strips if irregular coverage is needed

How will this product feel on the skin and is it comfortable for long wear?

The silicone gel sheet is soft, semi-occlusive, and designed to feel lightweight against the skin, minimizing irritation during extended wear. The material is non-adherent to open wounds and intended for application to healed skin and existing scars.

• Soft, pliable silicone for comfortable contact
• Semi-occlusive surface reduces friction while retaining moisture
• Non-adherent formulation to minimize skin damage on removal
• Sterile packaging reduces risk of contamination before first use
