Streamlight TLR-7 X Tactical Handgun Light, Black — 550 lumens, compact rail-mounted

The Streamlight TLR-7 X is a compact, rail-mounted tactical handgun light that delivers intense beam performance and secure attachment for duty or personal defense.

The TLR-7 X combines a small footprint with strong output and a user-friendly mounting system. It ships with a non-rechargeable battery providing 550 lumens and a balanced beam pattern for both reach and peripheral illumination, and accepts an optional rechargeable pack to boost output and candela for extended distance. Built from machined aircraft aluminum and equipped with impact-resistant components, the light is made to withstand daily use in demanding environments while keeping controls accessible and safe.

How bright is this light and what kind of beam does it produce?

The TLR-7 X produces a concentrated central hotspot with useful peripheral fill for situational awareness. With the included non-rechargeable battery you get 550 lumens and roughly a 170-meter effective beam; swapping in the separately sold rechargeable pack raises output to about 725 lumens and extends beam distance to around 195 meters.

• Included battery: ~550 lumens, 7,200 candela, 170-meter beam
• Optional rechargeable pack: ~725 lumens, 9,500 candela, 195-meter beam
• Engineered optic balances reach with side illumination for target ID

Will it attach securely to my handgun and how do I operate it?

The specialized low-profile rail clamp fastens the light to the side of compatible handgun accessory rails without requiring hands to cross the muzzle. Operation is straightforward: interchangeable high and low paddle switches let you choose a control style that matches your grip, and a safe-off feature prevents accidental activation during storage or transport.

• Tool-free clamp secures to standard accessory rails
• Front-loading battery access for quick replacement without removal
• High and low paddle switches included for left- or right-handed use
• Safe-off selector reduces unintended activation

How durable and weather-resistant is the TLR-7 X?

Streamlight built this model for rugged field use: an anodized machined aluminum body provides impact resistance while the polymer switch housing absorbs shocks. The lens is made from shock-mounted BOROFLOAT glass, and the unit carries an IPX7 rating, meaning it survives temporary submersion to one meter for thirty minutes.

• Machined aircraft aluminum housing for strength and light weight
• Shock-mounted BOROFLOAT glass lens resists impact and abrasion
• IPX7 waterproof standard: 1 meter for 30 minutes

Who is this for: The Streamlight TLR-7 X is suited to law enforcement officers, security professionals, concealed-carry owners, and shooters who want a high-performance, low-profile weapon light. It fits users who need strong output in a compact package, reliable weather resistance, and easy-to-use controls that accommodate different hand positions and battery options.
