SUB-ZERO Air Purification Cartridge 7042798 — Replacement Refrigerator Filter, Odour & Particulate Control

The Sub-Zero Air Purification Cartridge (model 7042798) is a drop-in replacement filter designed to refresh and maintain clean air circulation inside compatible Sub-Zero refrigeration units.

This cartridge is engineered to integrate with all Sub-Zero models and remove odors, helping keep the refrigerator interior smelling neutral and organized. It’s non-perishable, simple to swap in, and uses advanced filtration technology to manage airborne particles and scents produced by stored foods. Small manufacturing residue (a harmless white powder) may be present; wipe the cartridge with a dry cloth before installation if needed.

How does this cartridge fit and work in my Sub-Zero refrigerator?

The 7042798 is built as a direct-fit replacement for the air purification module found in Sub-Zero units, so installation is straightforward with no modifications required. It intercepts odors and airborne particulates as the refrigerator’s internal circulation system moves air through the filter, helping maintain a neutral-smelling interior.

• Compatible with all Sub-Zero models—direct drop-in design
• Works with refrigerator airflow to capture odors and particulates
• Simple twist or snap-in replacement depending on model
• Non-perishable cartridge—store spares without special conditions

What maintenance or precautions should I be aware of?

Replace the cartridge according to your usage patterns or manufacturer recommendation to keep performance consistent. The product may produce a rattling sound in transit and can have harmless white powder from manufacturing; wiping before installation eliminates any residue and reduces noise.

• Wipe with a dry cloth if white powder is visible before inserting
• Expect slight rattling during transport—normal and nonfunctional
• No refrigeration or special storage required for spare cartridges
• Follow Sub-Zero’s replacement interval or check scent/air quality

Will this cartridge improve food storage and freshness?

While not a food-preservation device by itself, the cartridge reduces odor transfer between items and helps maintain a more neutral environment inside the appliance. That can make it easier to manage strong-smelling foods and keep produce and prepared items tasting as intended.

• Minimizes cross-contamination of odors between food items
• Helps interior air smell neutral and more pleasant
• Supports overall refrigerator hygiene when combined with regular cleaning
• Can extend the perceived freshness by reducing scent buildup

Is installation difficult and what should I expect during replacement?

Installation is designed to be user-friendly: access the air purification compartment, remove the old cartridge, and insert the new 7042798 unit. No tools or extensive disassembly are generally required, and the cartridge’s form factor matches Sub-Zero specifications for a snug, reliable fit.

• No special tools required—typically a simple snap or twist insertion
• Designed to seat securely to prevent airflow bypass
• Inspect and wipe any visible residue before installing
• Dispose of the old cartridge according to local guidelines
