Tapo 1080p Pan/Tilt Security Camera C201 — 360° Sweep, Night Vision & Two-Way Audio

Small homes, nurseries, and busy living spaces benefit from a camera that can pan, tilt and deliver clear day‑and‑night video without complicated setup. The Tapo C201 combines a 360° horizontal sweep and 114° vertical tilt with Full HD resolution, two‑way audio and night vision up to 30 feet. It connects over 2.4 GHz Wi‑Fi, works with Alexa and Google Assistant, and stores footage either on a microSD card or via Tapo Care cloud plans.

How does the C201 cover an entire room so I don’t miss activity?

The C201 uses motorized pan and tilt to scan wide areas and follow movement across a room, eliminating blind spots common with fixed cameras. You can control the view manually from the app, set patrol paths, or rely on motion‑triggered tracking when enabled.

• 360° horizontal rotation and 114° vertical tilt for broad coverage
• Manual remote control and automated patrol modes in the Tapo app
• Motion tracking option captures moving subjects as they travel

Can I use this camera as a reliable baby monitor or pet camera?

The camera sends instant push notifications for motion, human detection, and baby crying alerts (feature availability may vary by firmware and region). Two‑way audio lets you soothe a child or talk to a pet, while the built‑in siren can deter intruders or interrupt unwanted behavior.

• Real‑time push notifications for motion, person, and baby crying
• 2‑way talk and integrated siren through the Tapo mobile app
• 1080p video to see fine details like toys or facial expressions

What storage options are available and how secure are my recordings?

You can save continuous footage locally to a microSD card up to 512 GB (card not included) or choose Tapo Care cloud storage for 30‑day history and extra features. Local storage keeps files on a device you control; cloud storage provides offsite backup and advanced detection features.

• Supports microSD cards up to 512 GB for local recording
• Tapo Care cloud subscription stores rolling 30‑day video history and advanced detections
• Check TP‑Link compatibility notes before buying a microSD card

How well does the camera perform in low light and on smart home setups?

The integrated IR system enables night vision up to 30 feet so you can monitor rooms after dark without visible lighting. The C201 also integrates with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant, allowing you to pull up the live feed on Echo Show or Chromecast‑connected displays with voice commands.

• Infrared night vision rated to approximately 30 feet for low‑light visibility
• Works with Alexa and Google Assistant for voice‑activated viewing
• Connects via 2.4 GHz Wi‑Fi for consistent indoor coverage

Who is this for? The Tapo C201 is a practical choice for renters, parents, and pet owners who want flexible room coverage and clear 1080p video without a subscription commitment. It fits households that prefer local recording to avoid ongoing fees, while also offering cloud options for users who want offsite backups and advanced detection features. Installers and DIYers will appreciate the simple app setup, motorized controls, and compatibility with common smart speaker ecosystems.
