Tearel Shower Cartridge Kit for Moen 1222-Style Posi-Temp Valves — Brass-Core Replacement with Puller & Hardware

Tearel Shower Cartridge Kit is a complete replacement set that fits Moen 1222-style posi-temp single-handle shower valves, providing a brass-core cartridge, puller tool, grease, and mounting hardware for a like-new repair.

If your Moen-style posi-temp shower handle sticks, leaks, or no longer maintains stable water temperature, this kit gives you the parts and tools needed to replace the cartridge and restore reliable operation. The kit includes a brass-core cartridge engineered to reduce leak risk, a 104421 cartridge puller for safe removal, lubricating grease for smoother installation, and the adapter, retainer clip, and temperature limit stop needed to complete the repair with a factory-like finish.

How does this kit match my existing Moen 1222 cartridge?

The Tearel cartridge is designed to be a direct-fit replacement for Moen 1222-style posi-temp single-handle shower valves. It replicates the necessary mounting dimensions and pressure-balance functions so it can be swapped into most compatible faucets without modifying the valve body.

• Form and function aligned to 1222 posi-temp specifications
• Includes metal adapter and retainer clip for proper seating
• Check your valve model and dimensions before ordering to confirm compatibility

What tools and parts are included to make replacement easier?

This kit ships with both the replacement cartridge and the 104421 cartridge puller, plus lubricating grease to ease insertion and help seals seat correctly. You won’t need to source extra hardware for a standard swap, which keeps the job straightforward for a DIYer or a professional.

• 104421 cartridge puller for damage-free removal
• Lubricating grease to protect O-rings and simplify installation
• Temperature limit stop, metal adapter, and retainer clip to restore the original assembly

How does the brass core affect durability and leaks?

The cartridge’s brass core provides stronger internal components than many plastic alternatives, improving resistance to wear and reducing the chance of leaks from failed internal parts. Brass also withstands repeated cycles and mineral exposure better, which helps extend service life under typical residential conditions.

• Brass core resists wear from repeated valve operation
• Lower likelihood of internal failure compared with some polymer cartridges
• Designed for residential and light commercial use where water quality is within normal parameters

Will this restore safe temperature control in my shower?

The included pressure-balance cartridge maintains proportional hot and cold flow, helping to reduce sudden temperature swings during pressure changes on the supply lines. The temperature limit stop gives you control to set a safe maximum outlet temperature for added peace of mind.

• Pressure-balance action helps minimize sudden hot or cold spikes
• Temperature limit stop adjusts the maximum handle travel
• Proper installation is important for accurate temperature response
