Veepeak Bluetooth OBD-II Scanner OBDCheck BLE+ — Wireless Car Code Reader for iOS & Android, Live Data & Code Clearing

The Veepeak OBDCheck BLE+ is a compact Bluetooth OBD-II adapter that links your car to compatible iOS and Android apps to read and clear engine codes, view live sensor data, and monitor basic vehicle health.

Small and lightweight, this scanner plugs into any OBD-II port (standard on most cars from 1996 onward in the US) and creates a wireless bridge to apps that interpret trouble codes, freeze-frame snapshots, readiness tests, and live PID data. It uses Bluetooth Low Energy for iPhones and modern Android devices, while also supporting classic Bluetooth for some Android apps. The adapter focuses on standard OBD-II functionality; more advanced or vehicle-specific systems require third-party apps and may be limited by vehicle make, model, and year.

How does the Veepeak OBDCheck BLE+ help diagnose a check engine light?

The adapter reads generic and manufacturer OBD-II codes and allows supported apps to clear codes once issues are addressed. You can pull freeze-frame data to see the conditions present when a fault occurred and monitor live sensors to confirm repairs are working.

• Retrieve and clear CEL/MIL diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs)
• View freeze-frame snapshots for fault context
• Stream live PID data (engine RPM, coolant temp, oxygen sensors where available)
• Check I/M readiness for emissions testing

Which phones and apps work with this Bluetooth OBD-II adapter?

The device supports Bluetooth LE for iOS and modern Android apps; some Android apps may use classic Bluetooth. It pairs from within the diagnostic app rather than system Bluetooth settings, and you should verify compatibility for specialized data or advanced features.

• Compatible apps include Car Scanner ELM OBD2, Torque (Android), and OBD Fusion
• Also works with vehicle-specific apps like BimmerCode, BimmerLink, OBD JScan, and Dr. Prius (app purchases may apply)
• Not compatible with certain tuning tools and some proprietary apps (e.g., Carly, MHD, xHP, bootmod3)
• Check app notes: some apps limit support by model year or bus type (MS-CAN, etc.)

What advanced functions and vehicle-specific data can I expect?

Most advanced systems—ABS, SRS, TPMS, BCM—or special service operations (injector coding, EPB, ABS bleeding) depend on both the app and vehicle. The OBDCheck BLE+ focuses on standard OBD-II data; extra features are available only when an app and the vehicle expose them, and many of those app functions are paid add-ons.

• Advanced diagnostic access depends on the vehicle’s manufacturer and model year
• Special functions like service resets are generally not supported by the adapter itself
• Some apps require purchase to unlock deeper vehicle data or ECU-specific tests
• Model-year limitations apply for certain apps (e.g., BimmerCode/BimmerLink restrictions)

How do I set up and use this Bluetooth OBD-II scanner in everyday driving?

Plug the adapter into the vehicle’s OBD-II port, open a compatible app, choose the correct connection type (BLE or classic Bluetooth), and connect from inside the app. Once paired, you can read codes, monitor sensors, and save sessions for later review.

• Locate the vehicle OBD-II port (often under the dash near the steering column)
• Install a supported third-party app and select BLE or classic Bluetooth as instructed
• Use live data views to record performance metrics or capture snapshots for diagnostics
• Disconnect after use to avoid continuous power draw when not needed

Who is this for? The Veepeak OBDCheck BLE+ is designed for DIY mechanics, drivers who want clearer insight into check engine situations, and mobile technicians who need a portable, app-driven diagnostic interface. It’s ideal if you already use—or are willing to install—a compatible third-party app and want a no-frills adapter that covers standard OBD-II tasks. If you require manufacturer-level service functions or advanced ECU programming, verify app support and vehicle compatibility before purchasing.
