Vets Preferred Anti-Diarrhea & Gas Relief is an 8 fl oz kaolin-and-pectin liquid designed to soothe upset stomachs and help firm stools in dogs of all sizes.

When your dog has loose stool, gas, or temporary digestive upset from diet changes, stress, parasites, or antibiotics, you want a gentle, easy-to-administer option to help restore comfort. This veterinarian-grade formula combines kaolin clay and pectin fiber to absorb excess moisture and support normal stool consistency. Made in the USA, the liquid is intended for short-term use and can be given directly or mixed into food every 12 hours per the product directions.

How fast will my dog show improvement on this kaolin formula?

Many dogs show noticeable improvement within 48–72 hours when the cause is mild and the product is used as directed. Response time varies with the underlying cause, hydration, and whether veterinary treatment is needed for infections or parasites.

• Typical improvement: 2–3 days for common, non-serious upset.
• Repeat dosing: given every 12 hours as recommended until symptoms ease.
• When to seek vet care: if symptoms persist beyond 72 hours or worsen.

How do I give this liquid to my dog and what is the dosing approach?

The product is a palatable liquid that can be administered directly into the mouth or mixed into food for finicky eaters. Dosage depends on your dog’s weight; follow the label instructions carefully to avoid under- or overdosing.

• Administration: directly by syringe or mixed into a small portion of food.
• Frequency: typically every 12 hours until stools firm up.
• Tips: ensure fresh water is available to support hydration.

What does the formula contain and how does it help digestive upset?

The liquid pairs kaolin, a natural absorbent clay, with pectin, a plant-based fiber that helps bind excess moisture in the gut. Together these ingredients aim to support firmer stools and reduce irritation without causing dehydration when used appropriately.

• Kaolin: absorbs excess fluid to reduce loose stool.
• Pectin: helps bulk and normalize stool texture.
• Veterinarian-grade: manufactured in the USA under quality controls.

Are there any safety considerations or situations to avoid?

This product is formulated for temporary relief of mild digestive upset and is not a substitute for veterinary diagnosis or treatment of serious conditions. Avoid use in pets with known hypersensitivity to ingredients and consult your veterinarian for puppies, pregnant or nursing dogs, or if other symptoms like vomiting, blood in stool, fever, or lethargy appear.

• Not for long-term use without veterinary guidance.
• Contact a vet if symptoms worsen or don’t improve within 72 hours.
• Review concurrent medications with your veterinarian to prevent interactions.
