VIAIR 88P Portable Air Compressor Tyre Inflator 12V 120 PSI — Alligator Clamps, Fits up to 33" Tyres

The VIAIR 88P is a compact 12V portable air compressor that delivers up to 120 PSI and quickly inflates tires up to 33 inches using battery alligator clamps.

Lightweight and built to be stored in your vehicle, the 88P combines a powerful, maintenance-free motor with an easy-to-read pressure gauge and a durable carry case. Designed for drivers, off-roaders, and cyclists who need fast, reliable inflation away from a shop, this unit fills a typical 225/60/18 tire from 20 to 30 PSI in about 50 seconds. It uses direct battery connection via alligator clips so it can supply higher current than cigarette lighter models.

How fast will the 88P inflate my car or truck tire?

The 88P is engineered for speed: it can raise a 225/60/18 tire from 20 to 30 PSI in roughly 50 seconds and produces a free flow of 1.47 CFM. Its gearless motor and 120 PSI maximum working pressure let it handle larger tires up to 33 inches in diameter.

• 225/60/18 tire: ~50 seconds from 20–30 PSI
• Free flow capacity: 1.47 CFM for faster fills
• Max working pressure: 120 PSI; recommended for tires up to 33"
• Duty cycle: 25 minutes at 30 PSI for sustained use

What accessories and features come with the compressor?

The 88P includes a durable canvas carry bag, a 16 ft air hose, a 10 ft power cord with alligator clamps, a built-in pressure gauge, and three inflation tips plus a Presta adapter. Practical extras such as an LED work light and a solid brass twist-on chuck make roadside inflation easier and more reliable.

How do I power and operate the 88P safely?

Attach the alligator clips to your vehicle battery terminals and start the engine to supply steady power; the unit uses a simple on/off switch and requires no programming. Monitor the integrated pressure gauge while inflating and disconnect when you reach your desired PSI.

• Power: direct battery connection via alligator clamps for higher current
• Operation: connect hose, flip On, watch gauge, turn Off at target pressure
• Recommended: start vehicle engine while inflating to protect battery
• Simple maintenance: gearless motor design needs minimal upkeep

Will the 88P work for bikes, sports gear, and off-road vehicles?

Yes—this compressor is versatile enough for motorcycles, bicycles (Presta and Schrader), sports balls, rafts, and off-road vehicle tires. The included adapters and robust pressure range make it useful beyond car tires, from inflating a mountain bike tire to topping off an ATV or side-by-side.
