Zojirushi Micom 3-Cup Compact Rice Cooker & Warmer — Stainless Steel, Retractable Cord

This compact Zojirushi cooker uses microcomputer (Micom) control to adjust heat and timing, so you get consistent results whether you’re making short-grain white rice, long-grain rice, brown rice, or steel-cut oats. The stainless-steel exterior and fold-down handle make it easy to carry or store, while the retractable power cord keeps countertops tidy. Designed for small households, dorms, or anyone who wants precise, repeatable cooking without fuss, it simplifies mealtime with one-touch operation.

How does this rice cooker make different grains cook correctly?

The Micom logic senses temperature changes and alters the cooking cycle for each menu choice, preventing undercooked or overly sticky results. Specialized settings—like Long Grain, Brown/GABA Brown, and Steel Cut Oatmeal—use distinct heating patterns and timings to suit grain structure and water absorption.

• Long Grain White: adjusted boil and steam phases for separate-grain texture
• Brown/GABA Brown: lower-temperature activation step enhances brown rice texture
• Steel Cut Oatmeal: custom cycle shortens overall time while ensuring even cooking
• Regular White: reliable default setting for short- and medium-grain rice

What size and capacity considerations should I know for daily use?

With a 3-cup uncooked capacity, this cooker is sized for singles, couples, or small families and can cook as little as half a cup, avoiding wasted leftovers. The compact footprint and light weight make it suitable for small kitchens, apartments, RVs, or office use where counter space is limited.

• Minimum cook size: 1/2 cup uncooked rice or oats for smaller portions
• Maximum cook size: 3 cups uncooked rice (yields about 6 cups cooked)
• Compact form factor: fits in tight counters and small storage spaces
• Fold-down handle and retractable cord for easy transport and stowing

How easy is it to operate and maintain?

Operation is straightforward: pick the menu, press start, and the Micom brain completes the cook and switches to keep-warm automatically. Cleaning is simplified by removable inner components and a stainless-steel body that resists stains; routine wipes and a rinse of the inner pan keep the unit ready for the next batch.

• One-touch cooking with automatic keep-warm after finishing
• Removable inner cooking pan for simple washing
• Stainless-steel exterior wipes clean and resists wear
• Built-in retractable power cord reduces clutter and snag risk

What extra features help for transport and storage?

The cooker is designed to be taken on the go: its fold-down carry handle keeps the unit secure while moving, and the retractable power cord tucks away behind the unit for neat storage. Lightweight construction and compact size make it practical for bringing to potlucks, temporary kitchens, or seasonal living situations.

• Fold-down handle provides secure, comfortable transport
• Retractable power cord hides for compact storage and reduces countertop clutter
• Stainless-steel housing resists dents and maintains appearance
• Lightweight design suitable for travel and small-space living
