Atticus Torocity Mesotrione Herbicide Concentrate 227 g — 40% Mesotrione, Pre- and Post-Emergent Weed Control

Atticus Torocity Mesotrione Herbicide (8oz) is a concentrated lawn weed treatment containing 40% mesotrione that provides both pre-emergent and post-emergent control for many broadleaf and grassy weeds.

If you need a single, flexible product to prevent new weed seedlings and also suppress existing weeds, Atticus Torocity is designed for that role. Formulated with the same active ingredient used in leading mesotrione herbicides, this 8-ounce concentrate treats newly seeded lawns (specific cool-season species) and established turf to reduce competition from weeds like crabgrass, clover, dandelion, oxalis and creeping charlie. Read label directions carefully for approved turf species and regional availability.

How does Torocity work to stop weeds before and after they sprout?

Torocity contains mesotrione, a chemistry that can act at both pre-emergent and post-emergent stages. Applied as a diluted spray, it interferes with early weed growth and damages actively growing broadleaf and grassy weeds, giving you a wider treatment window than pre-emergent-only products.

• Active ingredient: 40.0% mesotrione for dual activity.
• Use timing: labeled for pre-emergent and post-emergent applications.
• Application form: concentrate that mixes with water for spray equipment.

Which weeds and turf types is Atticus Torocity effective on?

Torocity targets a broad mix of common lawn weeds, including both grassy species and many broadleaf problem plants. It is labeled for use on certain newly seeded and established cool-season and warm-season turfgrasses, but not all grasses are tolerant—always check the product label before applying.

• Common weeds controlled: crabgrass, ground ivy (creeping charlie), clover, oxalis, dandelion.
• Approved new-seeding grasses: Kentucky bluegrass, tall fescue, perennial ryegrass, centipedegrass (follow label timing).
• Not for use on: bentgrass, zoysiagrass, actively growing Bermudagrass (and other species per label).

When and how should I apply the 8oz concentrate for best results?

Follow label directions for mixing rates, water volume, and spray coverage to achieve effective control while protecting desirable turf. Torocity’s pre- and post-emergent flexibility gives you timing forgiveness—apply before weed seed germination or to young, actively growing weeds, using appropriate equipment and coverage.

• Mixing: dilute concentrate in water per label; use a hand-pump or hose-end sprayer for uniform coverage.
• Timing: apply before weed germination for prevention or to small, actively growing weeds for control.
• Coverage: ensure even spray and avoid off-target drift; follow re-entry and mowing intervals on the label.

Are there restrictions or safety considerations I should know?

Certain states and territories do not allow sale of this product, and not all turf species are tolerant of mesotrione. Carefully read the product label for application rates, pre- and post-seeding intervals, environmental precautions, and personal protective equipment requirements.

• Not available for sale in Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, or Vermont.
• Follow label for species-specific use and any turf renovation intervals.
• Observe label safety, mixing, and disposal instructions to reduce risk to people and environment.
