Blackline Synthetic Clay Towel 12"x12" - Reusable Clay-Bar Alternative, Polymer Surface & Microfiber Edge

The Blackline Synthetic Clay Towel 12"x12" is a reusable, polymer-based clay-bar alternative that lifts embedded contaminants to leave automotive surfaces smooth and ready for polish or wax.

If you want faster decontamination than traditional clay bars without the mess, this 12"x12" synthetic clay towel combines a pliable polymer surface with a microfiber wipe edge to remove tar, sap, road film and industrial fallout. It works wet with a lubricant to glide across paint, glass and metal, breaking the bond of stuck-on particles while the microfiber perimeter captures residue. The result is a visibly smoother finish that reduces polishing time and improves product adhesion for sealants and waxes.

How does the Blackline towel remove bonded contaminants?

The towel’s polymer layer is engineered to gently grab and lift particles embedded in the clear coat without abrading the surface. Use it with a spray lubricant to float contaminants, then glide the towel in straight, overlapping passes until the surface feels smooth. The microfiber edge simultaneously wipes away loosened grit for cleaner results.

• Polymer surface traps tar, sap, brake dust, and industrial fallout.
• Lubricant reduces friction to prevent marring.
• Microfiber border removes residue and dries faster than clay mash.

How do I use and maintain the 12"x12" synthetic clay towel?

Spray the panel with a clay lube or quick detailer, then work the towel with light, even pressure across the paint. Rinse and wring the towel periodically to remove captured contaminants and continue until the area feels slick. After a session, wash the towel by hand or machine on a gentle cycle and air-dry to preserve the polymer layer.

• Use plenty of lubricant for a smooth glide.
• Rinse the towel when it darkens to restore effectiveness.
• Hand or machine wash on gentle cycles; air-dry only.

Is the Blackline clay towel safe on different exterior surfaces?

Yes — the towel is safe for painted finishes, clear coats, glass, chrome and aluminum when used correctly with lubricant and light pressure. It’s not an abrasive abrasive block, so it minimizes risk of micro-scratches that can occur with improper clay bar use. Test in an inconspicuous area if you’re unsure about a delicate finish.

• Suitable for cars, trucks, motorcycles and boats.
• Works on paint, glass and metal surfaces with proper lubrication.
• Always test a small area before full-panel use.

Why choose the synthetic clay towel over a traditional clay bar?

The synthetic towel covers more surface area per pass and is reusable, reducing cost and cleanup compared with disposable clay bars. Its design combines a grabby polymer with a microfiber wipe edge, delivering smoother results while saving time. For routine maintenance, it can make decontamination quicker and less messy.

• Larger working area for faster coverage than small clay bars.
• Durable and reusable—fewer replacements needed.
• Built-in microfiber cleans and dries as you go.

Who is this for: Detailers and vehicle owners who want a fast, cost-effective way to remove embedded surface contaminants without the stickiness and handling of clay bars. The Blackline Synthetic Clay Towel suits DIY enthusiasts, professional detail shops, and anyone maintaining cars, trucks, motorcycles or boats who wants a smoother finish before polishing, sealing or waxing.
