Cuisinart 12-Cup Programmable Coffee Maker DCC-3400NAS Silver, Thermal Carafe & Brew Strength Control

The Cuisinart 12-Cup Programmable Coffee Maker (DCC-3400NAS) brews hotter, customizable coffee with a stainless-steel thermal carafe, 24-hour programmability, and brew-strength controls for everyday convenience.

This fully programmable drip machine combines temperature-focused brewing technology with practical features—like a thermal carafe that keeps coffee hot, a 1-4 cup mode for smaller batches, and a Brew Pause function so you can pour mid-cycle. The DCC-3400NAS is designed for households that want consistent, flavorful coffee without complicated steps: set your preferences on the backlit LCD, use the gold-tone filter and charcoal water filter for cleaner taste, and enjoy a ready-alert tone when your brew is complete.

How does this machine keep coffee hotter without changing flavor?

This Cuisinart model uses PerfecTemp heating technology designed to reach and maintain an ideal brewing temperature range, helping extract flavor while keeping the finished coffee warm in its insulated thermal carafe. The thermal carafe preserves temperature without needing a hot plate, which avoids overcooking the brew.

• PerfecTemp heating system for proper extraction temperature
• Insulated stainless-steel thermal carafe preserves heat cleanly
• No warming plate means less risk of burnt or bitter coffee

What programmable and convenience features does it include?

The unit is fully programmable up to 24 hours so you can schedule brewing in advance and wake to freshly brewed coffee. It also offers a 60-second memory reset after a brief power interruption, an optional ready tone, and a self-clean setting to simplify maintenance.

• 24-hour programmability with backlit LCD for easy scheduling
• 60-second recall of settings after power loss
• Optional ready-alert tone and self-clean indicator light

Can I customize brew strength and brew smaller batches?

Yes—Brew Strength Control lets you choose regular or bold extraction to match your taste preferences. The dedicated 1-4 cup setting optimizes water flow and extraction for smaller quantities, so a half pot still tastes balanced.

• Brew Strength Control for regular or bold coffee
• 1-4 cup mode adjusts brewing time and flow for small batches
• Brew Pause feature allows a mid-brew pour without spills

What filtration and cleaning options improve cup quality?

The machine includes a gold-tone permanent coffee filter for full-bodied extraction plus a charcoal water filter to reduce impurities that affect taste. An indicator light signals when descaling is recommended, and the self-clean program streamlines periodic maintenance.

• Gold-tone reusable filter for optimal flavor extraction
• Charcoal water filter reduces chlorine and sediment taste
• Decalcify indicator and one-button self-clean program

Who is this for: The Cuisinart DCC-3400NAS is suited to busy households, small offices, or coffee lovers who want a reliable, programmable drip brewer that delivers hotter coffee and customizable strength without complicated steps. It’s a good fit if you prefer a thermal carafe over a hot plate, value set-and-forget scheduling, and like control over brew strength and batch size.
