Filtrete 20x20x1 Air Filter MERV 12 (MPR 1500) — 2-Pack Pleated 1" HVAC Filters for Home Air Quality

Filtrete 20x20x1 MERV 12 (MPR 1500) air filters are pleated 1-inch HVAC filters sold as a two-pack designed to capture a wide range of household particles while maintaining airflow.

These Filtrete filters use the brand's multilayer filtration technology to trap both large debris like lint and pollen and numerous smaller particulates such as pet dander, smoke particles and many airborne microscopic contaminants. Each pack includes two 20" x 20" x 1" filters rated MPR 1500 and MERV 12, intended for routine replacement every 90 days in furnaces, air conditioners and whole-home HVAC systems. Filtrete also provides a Smart App to set replacement reminders by scanning the product barcode for 30-, 60- or 90-day countdowns.

How does this filter balance filtration and airflow?

The pleated design increases surface area so the filter can collect more particles without overly restricting airflow. The MERV 12 rating and MPR 1500 indicate strong performance against fine particles while remaining compatible with most residential systems when used as recommended.

• Pleated 1-inch media for greater capture area
• MPR 1500 and MERV 12 for enhanced small-particle collection
• Designed to maintain adequate airflow for standard home HVAC units
• Change every 90 days to preserve system efficiency

What kinds of particles will it capture?

This Filtrete filter is engineered to remove a wide spectrum of airborne material—from visible dust to many microscopic contaminants—helping reduce the amount of debris circulating through your home system. Independent testing and the product ratings describe its effectiveness across particle sizes.

• Large particles: dust, lint, pollen
• Common allergens: pet dander and household dust
• Smaller airborne particulates such as smoke and many fine aerosols
• Certified asthma and allergy-friendly per testing standards

How often should I replace these filters and how can I remember?

For most households, swap the filter every three months to sustain filtration performance and efficient HVAC operation. Filtrete recommends at least a 90-day interval; heavier pollutant loads or homes with pets may need more frequent changes.

• Standard replacement interval: every 90 days
• Homes with pets, smokers, or high pollen: consider 30–60 day checks
• Use the Filtrete Smart App to scan the barcode and set reminders
• App offers 30-, 60- or 90-day countdown notifications

Will this filter fit my system and how easy is installation?

These 20x20x1 filters are intended to fit furnaces, air handlers and in-line HVAC slots that accept 1-inch media. Installation is straightforward: slide the filter into the slot with the airflow arrows pointing toward the unit.

• Standard 20" x 20" x 1" dimensions for common residential openings
• One-directional arrows on the frame indicate proper airflow orientation
• Two-pack provides two replacement cycles for many homes
• Check your system manual if you have uncommon filter sizes or higher MERV requirements

Who is this for? Homeowners and renters seeking a higher-performing, easy-to-install 1-inch HVAC filter will find value in this Filtrete MPR 1500, MERV 12 two-pack. It is suitable for typical residential furnaces and air conditioners, especially in homes with pets, seasonal allergies or where improved fine-particle capture is desired without changing to thicker, specialized media.
