Green Star Touch 'n Hold Smooth Door Closer — White Heavy-Duty Dual Closer with Hands-Free Hold-Open

The GREENSTAR Touch 'n Hold Smooth is a heavy-duty dual door closer system that gently closes medium to heavy storm, screen, and security doors while offering a hands-free hold-open feature.

Designed as a direct replacement for many common closer brands and an upgrade for new doors, this white dual closer balances controlled, bounce-free closing with an easy tap-to-hold function. Its patented smooth-closing mechanism reduces slamming and rebound, and the Touch button lets you secure the door open at any angle without manually propping it. The unit comes as a single-door closer (one touch button), suitable for medium and heavy-weight doors used in residential and light commercial entrances.

How does the Touch 'n Hold button let me keep the door open?

The intuitive Touch button activates a mechanical hold that keeps the door at your chosen position when you tap it. Releasing is equally simple: push the door a bit farther open and the mechanism disengages automatically, letting the door return to controlled closing.

• Hands-free activation — tap the button to hold the door open.
• Automatic release — nudge the door further open to disengage the hold.
• Single-touch control — no extra levers or pins required.
• One closer includes one Touch button (use on single door applications).

What makes the closing action “smooth” and suitable for heavier doors?

The unit uses patented damping technology to remove bounce and slow the door in a controlled way, preventing abrupt slams on medium to heavy doors. That means easier passage through the opening, less noise, and reduced wear on frames and hardware.

• Patented smooth-closing mechanism reduces rebound and slam.
• Designed for medium and heavy-weight storm, screen, and security doors.
• Consistent closing force maintains performance over repeated cycles.
• White finish blends with common door trims and frames.

Is it easy to install or replace an existing closer?

Yes — the GREENSTAR Touch 'n Hold Smooth is engineered for straightforward replacement on many popular brands and for clean installation on new doors. Mounting locations and frame compatibility match common standard closers, and step-by-step video guidance simplifies the process for DIYers and professionals alike.

• Direct compatible replacements for Larson, Andersen, Pella, Unique Home Design, EMCO, and more.
• Clear mounting points for fast swap-out of older units.
• Suitable for new door installs with standard hinge and jamb setups.
• Installation video available to guide each step.

How durable is this closer for outdoor or security use?

Built for heavy-duty applications, the closer’s construction and finish resist regular use on storm and security doors. Its mechanism maintains reliable hold and smooth closing through frequent cycles, making it a practical option for entryways that see high traffic or heavier door panels.

• Engineered for repeated cycles on medium and heavy doors.
• White corrosion-resistant finish suitable for covered exterior use.
• Robust internal components designed for security and storm door demands.
• Works with a variety of door materials and thicknesses.

Who is this for: The GREENSTAR Touch 'n Hold Smooth is aimed at homeowners, property managers, and contractors who need a durable, quiet closing solution for heavier storm, screen, or security doors. It’s a good fit for anyone replacing older closers from major brands or installing a new closer that combines easy hands-free hold-open functionality with consistent, bounce-free closing. If you want a single-door closer that simplifies entries and reduces noise without complicated hardware, this model is designed to meet those needs.
