LEISURE TIME Spa Down granular pH reducer for hot tubs — 1.13 kg, fast-dissolving sodium bisulfate

LEISURE TIME Spa Down 22338A (2.5 lb) is a fast-dissolving sodium bisulfate granular pH reducer designed to lower pH and total alkalinity so spa water stays clear and sanitizer works efficiently.

Keeping hot tub water balanced protects equipment, improves comfort and makes sanitizers like chlorine or bromine more effective. Spa Down is formulated for spas and hot tubs of all types and is compatible with bromine, chlorine and biguanide sanitizing systems. The granular formula dissolves quickly when added to water, giving you a straightforward way to correct high pH and alkalinity that cause scale, cloudiness and reduced sanitizer performance.

How does Spa Down improve water clarity and sanitizer performance?

High pH reduces sanitizer activity and encourages scale formation, which can cloud water and coat surfaces. By lowering pH and total alkalinity into the ideal range, Spa Down helps sanitizers perform closer to their intended strength and reduces the risk of deposits on heaters and jets.

• Rapidly lowers pH and alkalinity with sodium bisulfate.
• Helps keep filters and surfaces free from scale buildup.
• Improves sanitizer effectiveness so lower doses maintain cleanliness.

How do I use this 2.5 lb container safely and effectively?

Use the product in small, measured additions to avoid overcorrecting. Pour Spa Down into the spa while the circulation pump is running, allow it to dissolve and circulate for at least 15–30 minutes, then retest pH and alkalinity. Repeat in small increments until desired levels are reached.

• Test pH and total alkalinity before adding the product.
• With pump running, sprinkle recommended amount into the spa water.
• Wait 15–30 minutes and retest; repeat as needed in small doses.

Is Spa Down compatible with my sanitizer and spa equipment?

Spa Down is formulated to work with common sanitizer systems—bromine, chlorine and biguanide—so you won’t need to downsize or change your sanitizer when adjusting pH. Its sodium bisulfate base lowers pH without introducing harsh alkalinity-increasing compounds, helping preserve equipment life when used correctly.

• Compatible with bromine, chlorine and biguanide systems.
• Fast-dissolving granules minimize residue when used as directed.
• Helps prevent scale that can damage heaters and jets when balanced.

What precautions and storage steps should I follow?

Handle and store Spa Down with basic chemical safety to protect surfaces and skin. Keep the container sealed and stored in a cool, dry place away from children, pets and incompatible chemicals like household bleach. Follow label directions for dosing and never add chemicals directly onto a person in the spa.

• Store sealed in a cool, dry area out of reach of children and pets.
• Wear gloves and avoid inhaling dust when measuring powder.
• Keep away from chlorine or bleach to prevent hazardous reactions.
