Leviton Decora Countdown Timer Switch for Bathroom Fan and Lights — White, 10/20/30/60-Min Presets, No Neutral Required

Leviton DT160-1LW is a five-button Decora countdown timer switch that runs bathroom fans, lights, and motors for preset 10, 20, 30 or 60-minute intervals and shuts off automatically.

This slim-profile single-pole timer replaces a standard wall switch without requiring a neutral conductor and provides a simple way to avoid leaving exhaust fans and lights on. With interchangeable line/load wiring, a removable Green Flex Sleeve for ground-or-neutral connection, and compatibility with Decora faceplates, it fits common residential and light-commercial applications. The DT160 supports multiple load types—including LED/CFL, incandescent, low-voltage, and motors—making it a flexible energy-saving upgrade for bathrooms, attics, towel warmers and other timed devices.

How does the DT160-1LW make bathroom fan control easier?

The preset buttons let you pick common run times without fiddling with dials or remembering to turn a fan off later. Once you tap 10, 20, 30 or 60 minutes, the switch counts down and automatically cuts power at the end of the interval, keeping humidity and odors controlled while saving energy.

• Four preset times: 10, 20, 30, 60 minutes for quick selection
• Manual OFF button for immediate shutoff
• Automatic shutoff prevents fans from running indefinitely

Will this fit my existing wall box and wiring?

The DT160 has a shallow depth and standard Decora footprint to fit most single-gang wall boxes and replace common switches. It installs using two black wires for hot/load that can be swapped to reduce miswiring risk, plus a Green Flex Sleeve that attaches to ground or, if removed, lets you connect to a neutral when present.

• Shallow design for easier fit in typical wallboxes
• Interchangeable black wires reduce installation mistakes
• Green Flex Sleeve adapts to grounded or neutral-equipped boxes

What loads and ratings does the timer support?

The DT160-1LW is rated for a wide variety of residential lighting and motor loads so you can use it with exhaust fans, heat lamps and common lighting types. Observe the specified wattage and motor HP limits to ensure safe operation and long service life.

• 15 A resistive; 600W LED/CFL; 1800W incandescent/halogen
• 1200 VA magnetic/electronic low-voltage and fluorescent
• ½ HP / 9.8 A motor rating for fans and small motors

How does the look and compatibility work with my decor?

The timer uses the Decora form factor and a neutral white finish designed to match modern wallplates and switches. If you want a different color, Leviton DTKIT faceplates are available in several shades so the device can blend with existing trim and fixtures.

• Decora-style appearance for seamless integration
• Available DTKIT faceplates in white, ivory, light almond, gray, black and brown
• Works with Decora and Decora Plus screwless wallplates (sold separately)

Who is this for: homeowners, renters with permission, and light-commercial property managers who want a reliable, easy-to-install timer for bathroom exhaust fans, heat lamps, towel warmers, attic fans, or lighting circuits. It’s especially useful when you need a straightforward preset timer without running a neutral to the switch, want to avoid leaving fans or lights on accidentally, and prefer a Decora-style look that pairs with available color faceplates. Always verify your circuit type and load ratings before installation and follow local electrical codes or consult a licensed electrician for complex wiring.
