Morning Song Sunflower Hearts & Chips Wild Bird Seed — 4.54 kg, 100% Hulled for Low-Mess Feeding

Morning Song Sunflower Hearts & Chips is a 100% shell-free sunflower kernel blend that delivers high-energy, low-mess feeding for a wide variety of backyard birds.

If you want to invite colorful finches, cardinals, chickadees and other regular visitors to your yard without the clutter of cracked shells, this 10 lb bag is designed for straightforward, efficient feeding. The product is composed entirely of hulled sunflower hearts and smaller chips that are ready to eat — no cracking, no hulls strewn beneath feeders, and no filler ingredients to attract pests. It works well in tube, hopper, platform and modern “smart” feeders and is a handy option year-round for bird lovers who value both nutrition and cleanliness.

What makes this sunflower blend a good choice for backyard bird feeding?

This mix focuses on quality ingredients and hassle-free feeding. Because the sunflower kernels are fully hulled, birds get immediate access to the nutritious kernel without struggling through shells, and you avoid the usual mess beneath feeders. The blend’s energy-dense kernels are particularly attractive to seed-eating species that rely on fat and protein.

• 100% hulled sunflower hearts and chips — no shells or fillers
• High-fat, high-protein kernels that support bird energy levels
• Less debris under feeders, making yard cleanup easier
• Suitable in most feeder types: tube, hopper, tray, or smart designs

How will this seed blend change what visits my feeders?

Switching to shelled sunflower typically increases visits from a broader range of small-to-medium seed-eating species. The accessible kernels appeal to finches, chickadees and titmice, while larger birds such as cardinals and nuthatches can also take advantage of the ready-to-eat portions. You may notice increased activity and longer feeder stays as birds feed more efficiently.

• Attracts finches, chickadees, cardinals, nuthatches, titmice and more
• Encourages consistent visits because food is easy to eat
• Reduces competition time at feeders — birds spend less time extracting food
• Can increase visible bird diversity in a short period

Will using this seed keep my yard cleaner and reduce maintenance?

Yes. Because there are no shells, the area under your feeders stays neater and requires less sweeping or raking. The absence of hulls also lowers the chance of mold buildup and reduces food waste, so the seed you buy is the seed the birds eat. This makes it a practical pick for patios, balconies, and landscaped yards where tidiness matters.

• No shell debris to collect under feeders or on patios
• Less uneaten filler means less attraction for rodents
• Easier seasonal cleanup and reduced feeder maintenance
• More efficient use of each 10 lb bag — more feeding, less waste

How should I use this product across different feeder types and seasons?

The hulled hearts and chips perform well in a variety of feeding setups and in all seasons. In colder months, the high-energy kernels help birds maintain body heat; during spring and summer, they provide an attractive supplement to natural foraging. Use in tube and hopper feeders for controlled portions, on platform trays for ground-feeding species, or in specialty smart feeders that dispense measured amounts.

• Tube & hopper feeders: reduce spillage and spoilage thanks to shell-free kernels
• Platform feeders: ideal for species that prefer open feeding areas
• Smart feeders: works with automated dispensers without jamming
• Year-round use: energy-dense in winter, appealing during breeding season
